Our Pain Unlimited - What Is Your Pain How Often Do You Find Yourself Saying: "I Wish I Knew How To Make My Severe to Chronic Pain More Tolerable" or "I Wish I Knew How To Begin Looking Forward to Each Day Again? That's a novel idea when dealing with chronic pain. When I was healthy I took listening to other opinions, thoughts and ideas for making money online for granted. I assumed I'd always be able to do whatever I needed to do to provide a living for my family. Never did I imagine that chronic pain would control my every movement everyday.
I don't know how many people are living with chronic pain, I just know that I'm living with chronic pain. In a short period of time I have become a believer of your body "telling" you what the weather is getting ready to do. I've learned that medical science has many "grey" areas and that it's a crapshoot to treat. No surgery is certain but you usually don't hear all the details about that from a doctor until AFTER the surgery and things aren't going quite as everybody had hoped. Also, you really can take all the medications your body can safely handle and still be in pain. That's what puts you in the chronic pain category but doesn't necessarily mean you have chronic pain. It's not chronic until doctors and insurance companies, social security, claims adjusters, private investigators, medical survelliance teams, field observers and anybody else that is enlisted to try to prove that you DON'T have chronic pain have run their tricks and traps and satisfied themselves that, yes, just maybe this person really is in pain. Then you have CHRONIC PAIN. Pain that won't go away. Pain that plans to be with you for the rest of your life or until medical science can discover a cure for your case or similiar cases that you might benefit from. Burning, stabbing, pinching, nagging, aching, relentless pain. Pain in your back, neck, arms, head, shoulders, legs, feet or whatever part of your body that's involved that the pain takes up residence in and begins to try to unravel your life as you once knew it.
Back pain and sex don't always go together very well and if you or your partner are among the 35 million people who have back pain, you know that back pain can disrupt your relationship. Sex is an important part of the intimacy between couples, and attitudes about sex, about rejection and about our self-image when we don't feel up to a sexual encounter can haunt a couple for a long time.
So, at the top of your agenda there needs to be a frank discussion of your pain limitations and expectations about sex. It is a mistake to believe that your partner understands what it feels like. It is your responsibility to communicate those limitations as clearly as possible; it is their responsibility to listen and try to understand.
It should be obvious that if it hurts, don't do it. That is generally good advice but some positions and techniques hurt more than others. It may require some gentle experimentation to find out what works but as in most sex advice, "gentle" is the best place to start.

Pain itself is no laughing matter, but the act of laughing can be physically and spiritually healing. It helps us breathe deeply, cleanses tense pain from our bodies, gives key muscles beneficial exercise, and lets us travel to an uplifting place of joy. Healthy, loving relationships do the heart good, but so do chocolate and wine, a U.S. cardiologist says.
Dr. Julie Damp of the Vanderbilt Heart and Vascular Institute says most people who are married or who are in close, healthy relationships tend to be less likely to smoke, are more physically active and are more likely to have a well-developed social structure -- and as a result have lower levels of stress and anxiety.
"There is a theory -- unproven -- that people who are in loving relationships may experience neuro-hormonal changes that have positive effects on the body, including the cardiovascular system," Damp says in a statement.
However, giving a box of dark chocolates and a bottle of red wine to your loved one -- or yourself -- won't hurt either, Damp says. Studies show both are good for the heart.
Dark chocolate -- the darker the better -- contains flavonoids, antioxidants, which have positive effects on many different body systems including the cardiovascular system.
Flavonoids are also present in red wine and moderate alcohol consumption -- not more than one drink a day for women and one to two for men -- is associated with lower rates of cardiovascular events such as heart attacks.
