Pendleton United Methodist Church Picnic
Pendleton United Methodist Church enjoys our Annual Church Picnic held every summer! I first created this page after one of our picnics several years ago. The weather was perfect, the food was delicious, the attendance was great and the fellowship time was wonderful. Children were seen playing in Barrett's Place Playground and on a vacant field. Adults visited and prepared the food and the tables. One by one families arrived with their covered dishes and chairs. It was a festive day and we are looking forward to repeating the fun time at this year's event. Unfortunately, I had to miss the next one so didn't get pictures but hope I will make the one this summer.
Pendleton United Methodist Church Invites You To Visit With Us.
Pendleton SC has many wonderful churches. I grew up in the Presbyterian Church but moved to the Methodist when my hubby and I got married. There is an active group of church leaders called the Alliance of Pendleton Area Churches. A lot of the area churches are listed on my SquidZipper so stop by if you are looking for information on area churches or would like to add your church to the list. Thank you.

All Ages Enjoyed The Annual Church Picnic

It doesn't matter what age you are, there is always something to enjoy at the Annual Church Picnic. Everyone had a great time!Photo: In Memory of Helen Flesner
It would be fun to have a Sing A Long at our church picnic
I think we did one year when we had the Church Picnic at our house
This is a link to my lens about my favorite Sunday School Songs. I grew up in the Presbyterian Church but went to Bible School at the Methodist Church. I always loved doing that mainly because we got to sing "Down In My Heart". For some reason, we didn't sing that much at our church. Maybe that is the reason that I became a Methodist. Reckon?
Fun In Barrett's Place Playground
and Trotter's Trail
This was the perfect location for a picnic. The children enjoyed Barrett's Place Playground and had a great time. The playground was built in 5 days by over 1800 volunteers in October 2005. Pendleton is proud of this playground and a group was formed that wants to make Veterans Park the best it can be. Friends of the Park has two workdays per year to keep up with the needed maintenance of the playground, the shelters and Learn More About Friends of the Park
and our Step Up To The Plate Fundraising Campaign for the Ball Fields
You can rent the shelters by calling town hall at 646-9022.

Enjoying Each Other
Once great thing about the Annual Church Picnic is that everyone is relaxed and it is a great time just to enjoy each other. There were many conversations going on at the same time. There were "people watchers" and "busy bees". Did You Have A Way To Carry Your Food?

This is our favorite Casseroles, Ice Cream and Fruit Salad Recipes
Broccoli-Rice-Sausage Casserole, Papa Docs Creamy Peach Ice Cream, Fruit Salad and Spaghetti Salad
Our neighbor, Nancy Wilkinson, gave me this recipe years ago and it is still one of our favorites.
Nancy also gave me the recipe for Spaghetti Salad. It is delicious especially with the Fruit Salad
Papa Doc really knows how to make homemade Peach Ice Cream. It is the best. The Asparagus
Casserole Recipe was one that my mom used to make.

- I have such fond memories of church picnics as a child. We always had a great time. But as you point out, they are not just for kids. Anyone can enjoy them.
