Memories of Cinnamon Tea

Photo from Creative Commons

My love for cinnamon teas stems back to my childhood, moments with my mom I treasure to this day, but, it isn't just the memories I love about cinnamon tea. Cinnamon tea is delicious, soothing and healing. It's everything a warm relaxing tea should be and more. It's even simple to make and uplifting to drink.

My Cinnamon Tea Recipe

What you Need:
1 stick of fresh cinnamon (if the stick is very long cut in half).
1 large pot filled with water (I like to make a lot for the whole family and for several cups) or a tea kettle
sugar or honey
milk is optional

Directions: Place the cinnamon stick in the pot with water. Set it on the stove and let it come to a boil for about 2-3 minutes. Turn off the stove and then let it sit for a few more minutes. When the water has darkened grab a cup with a good handle. Dip it into the tea then pour it into the cups you have set out to fill. When the tea is poured add sugar or honey to each individuals liking. You may then add just a drop or two or more of milk as well. I like my cinnamon tea to be made sweet with honey and about 2 drops of milk. Stir the tea and enjoy, Be CAREFUL! It's hot.

Change Up The Flavor and Add One of The Options

mint leaves (so refreshing) (mine come straight from my garden)
nutmeg
green tea
black tea
cloves
cream
lipton tea
or some other tea

Can You Smell It?

Tea has a wonderful aroma to it. If you ever want to make your house smell good naturally don't buy expensive (and harmful) fragrance sprays or candles. Instead just boil of pot of cinnamon tea.

Tea Kettle

Make it easier to pour my cinnamon tea by getting a tea kettle!

It helps to relieve nausea too! It's not just ginger any more..love cinnamon. If I am craving sugar, cinnamon can totally take the craving away.

Now, I am going to have to make me some of this!! I love cinnamon but have never tried making a tea. The closest it has got to my hot drinks is sprinkled over my hot chocolate's whipped cream! But this sounds delicious.

Cinnamon also helps balance the brain chemical gaba, which influences our mood and eating patterns. I mix my dinnamon with green tea. Loved your pictures, very nice lens.
