Cinnamon toast is delicious...

Cinnamon toast is delicious, nutritious, and very quick and easy to prepare. So maybe it's time to revive an old tradition and start including cinnamon toast into your daily meal plan.

When I was a kid it was common to sprinkle a little cinnamon and sugar onto toast for breakfast, or as an after school snack, but you don't see as many folks doing it today. Parents today are instead raising up their kids on commercially produced spreads and moving away from the health benefits that cinnamon provides.

Well just maybe it is time to take another look at serving this fragrant delicious tasting spice to your family just a little more often.

We had cinnamon toast when we were kids. Hadn't thought of it for years. Yum. I also didn't know it had healthful properties.

Sprinkling cinnamon and sugar over buttered toast is very good and easy to make. In my opinion, a better way is to mix brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon into a spread that you put on your bread. Then put the bread on a cookie sheet ands bake it in the oven. The result is the most unbelievably tasty treat you will ever experience.

Oh I LOVE cinnamon!!!! Aside from eating it, if I need to freshen up the house a little bit (or just clean the microwave) I mix some cinnamon into a bowl of either water, water an lemon or water and orange and boil it in the microwave for a bit, the whole house then smells like cinnamon and the steam makes the microwave wipe clean!

I have never tried honey and cinnamon toast, that recipe looks delicious! Congrats!

I haven't thought of eating cinnamon toast in years! I live in China where it's hard to come by cinnamon but can find the bark that it's ground from...now to figure out how to make it into a nice fine powder. It's a great spice. My grandpa was just telling me how he mixes a teaspoon of cinnamon with some honey and fills the mug with hot water for a nice tea. He used to always drink coffee, but now he's buying his cinnamon in bulk!

A hot honey and cinnamon drink is very healthy. I am surprised that you cannot find cinnamon in China as it is such a popular spice here in the western world. If you have the cinnamon tree though you should be able to dry and grind the bark in a coffee or spice grinder I would think. Thank you so much for sharing this here.

Great lens, I really learned some new things. I'm a definite cinnamon toast-lover. We keep cinnamon/sugar mixed up in a tupperware in the fridge at all times. I don't eat it as often as I used to, though. I've taught my kids to love it and one of them especially likes it. I'm really intrigued about the lemon/honey/cinnamon water and off to read the Helium article about it!

    I'll do it tomorrow morning
