Citrine Lore

The name citrine derives from the Frensh word for lemons "citron" however most citrines are more of a golden than lemony yellow. In ancient antiquity people believed that the cosmos is reflected in gemstones. Citrine is assigned to planet Mercury It is also the Planetary stone for the Sun Sign of Virgo.

Yellow Gemstones

There are few yellow gemstones in the world of Gems. A diamonds and sapphires may be yellow but they are very expensive. A tourmaline or chrysoberyl can be yellow though they will tend toward green somewhat. However the Citrine is an excelent economical yellow that fulfils everyone's colour wishes from lemon yellow to reddish brown.
