The Civil War and My Great-Great Grandfather
Ranked #9,310 in Culture & Society, #185,948 overall
All about the Civil War and My Ancestor's Experience
I'm researching the life of my Civil War ancestor, Abraham Bates Tower. At the same time, I needed to learn all the details of a soldier's life, understand the battles and timeline of the war and track down as much information as possible about the people around him. He was a Yankee, serving in Company G, 93rd Indiana Infantry and spent part of the war in the notorious prison camp, Andersonville.
The result will be 29 or more web pages featured here showing different aspects of his life. Squidoo calls these pages lenses, like a snapshot on a topic. This list of those pages is called a lensography. I hope eventually that all the snapshots of Abraham Tower's life will combine into a book that gives the full picture.

- What a great idea for a lensography. I do not know a lot about the Civil War, but I always take a great interest in history, so I will come back and go through some of these over time. Awesome!

- Great lens, I was a civil war buff as a kid. It would be neat to learn about an ancestor during this time period.

- Good going Virginia! The Civil War in itself is fascinating, but the fact that you had a relative who experienced the rigors of war and Andersonville certainly makes a well-chosen subject for the quest.
