Clapotis

What Is a Clapotis anyway?

Clapotis is a wildly popular pattern published in the Fall, 2004, issue of Knitty. When I started this lens back in 2006, I had just started my first Clapotis. I have since made two more and have to restrain myself from casting on for another--something about this pattern is irresistible.

If you are a member of Ravelry, there are more than 16,000 Clapotis projects listed. Browse the list for some great yarn ideas. (login required)

In case you've wondered, the correct pronunciation is "Clap-o-tee".

According to Merriam-Webster, clapotis is defined as a standing wave pattern caused by water lapping against a barrier.

I haven't knitted that much in the last few years - just a few teddies. My time seems taken up with other projects.
