Classic Country is Better Than Rock

Ranked #7,215 in Music, #196,649 overall

HERE'S WHAT I THINK

Classic Country is Better Than Rock

It has more of a down to earth sound and southern drawl to it, and the guitars don't scream at you. Some kinds of rock sounds o.k., but classic country (not that new stuff that isn't even country), is BEST!!!

YOUR TURN!

Is classic country better than rock?

Yes, you're right!

SpaghettiFlambetti902 says:

Hell yes! Rock sucks! Country music rules! New country and classic country are innovative, exciting, and amazing! Rock is dull, boring, uninspired, unimaginative, soulless, and it all sounds the same! Country music will always be the most phenomenal music genre of all time and it will always be a million times better than rock! Unlike rock, country has heart! Country music is better than rock. So just deal with it! ^_^

BALLADERE says:

I LUV CLASSIC COUNTRY. I SING CLASSIC COUNTRY. BUT THERE DOESN'T SEEM TO BE A NEED FOR IT ANYMORE.

emyatt75092 says:

Classic country had soul that most of the new stuff doesn't have. You could say that classic country was the first true soul music.

Guitar-Teacher says:

yep

emma says:

classic rock is better than rock

murlene says:

JAM1047 says:

Heck YES! Country (classic AND new country) is WAAAAAAAAAY better than rock (especially classic rock.)

Blabbyblah says:

So true! Country music (old AND new, IMO), is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better than rock (especially classic rock)! :)

Countryisthebest says:

So true! Country is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than rock! It has much more meaning to it, and isn't annoyingly overrated like rock.

JAM says:

I agree, but I also like new country too. Oh well. To each his own. :)
I've lost a lot of interest in classic rock. I say country's way better.

AUB says:

ANYTHING IS BETTER THAN ROCK

wes says:

allways has been allways will be

Spike Jones says:

I grew up in the 60's and 70's and hated country! Now i look for the classic stuff. Really enjoying Conway and Loretta these days. It reminds me of when I was a kid because those were the sounds I remember the most. My Mom's music. Now that she's gone I find new meaning in the music.

kansasww says:

With out country music rock wouldn't be here !

TheWhistler says:

Country rocks!

BevsPaper says:

Classic country is the best. As for the comment about it having no rythym .... where do ya think the term "foot stompin' music" came from?

Countryman says:

The Highway Men was, is, and always will be better than KISS.

paul ashworth liverpool england says:

yes by a country mile spot on mate

He you rock fans--PROVE your point! Put some links in the voters space below!!!

EelKat says:

I like Johnny Cash.

No way, Monkeybrain!

PaulOnBooks says:

No, classic country is resticted, limited and dull. Rock is free and innovative.

shandi says:

rock n' roll! bring zep and KISS out!

Oosquid says:

I say the best of classic country can be as good as rock :)

Both are peoples music and both can be terrific. After all, country was one of the many fathers of rock 'n roll.

Lori_Lee-Ray says:

if it's classic southern rock, no! If it's the new headbanger stuff.. I'll take country.

kidzrule94 says:

Heck NO! Rock is an always will be better. Many new bands are coming from rock. just check out Darmata theyre awsme! go to http://www.squidoo.com/dramata to hear the awsomeness!

kiwisoutback says:

Mmm...no. I've never been able to stomach country of any sort. I agree with FlashAllen, Rock N Roll Ain't Noise Pollution!

Carol says:

Country music (old or new) drives me crazy. I can't stand the drawl, the twang, the nasal voices, the gloomy topics...give me rock any day.

FlashAllen says:

ARE YOU CRAZY? Rock is soooooooooo much better than country and rock never faileth. And for those about to rock WE SALUTE YOU.

:( says:

NOT TRUE!!!
Rock has so much more life and meaning!!!
You can't beat The Beatles now can you?!!!
Country may tell good stories, but it has no rhythm to it!!!

riff999 says:

It's gotta be rock and roll music if you want to dance with me.

fefe says:

I don't listen to a lot of classic country.

LouVozza says:

Classic country is great, but I still play Gimme Shelter by the Rolling Stones to wake me up in the morning.

says:

That's what is great about this country, we can all have our own opinions. While I respect yours, I must disagree. I'm definitely NOT a country music buff! You're right that the guitars don't scream at you in Classic Country! But I love screaming guitars, bangin' drums, full-on bass and a loud obnoxiously wonderful vocalist! We all have our own music interest. If yours is Classic Country, all the power to you! Rock on!

I love classic country. What I can't stand is country music that's been commercialized to the point where it bears no resemblance to what it originally was, which is folk music from England and Ireland that gradually developed into something distinctly American.

Hey~Rock fans. I don't exclusively like classic country. I do like some rock that I listened to in the 70's and 80's, and now thanks to my teenaged boys, I listen to more of it. Bret Michaels song on Poisons newest album, "I Never Cry" I love! I like some Alice Cooper,Rod Stewart,CCR, and Bon Jovi's "Miracle" and "Bang A Drum", and Guns N' Roses "Knocking On Heavens Door". I like classical and walztes, too. So, you see, I like a variety.
