HERE'S WHAT I THINK

Classic Country is Better Than Rock

It has more of a down to earth sound and southern drawl to it, and the guitars don't scream at you.

NOT TRUE!!!
Rock has so much more life and meaning!!!
You can't beat The Beatles now can you?!!!
Country may tell good stories, but it has no rhythm to it!!!

riff999 says:

It's gotta be rock and roll music if you want to dance with me.

fefe says:

I don't listen to a lot of classic country.

LouVozza says:

Classic country is great, but I still play Gimme Shelter by the Rolling Stones to wake me up in the morning.

says:

That's what is great about this country, we can all have our own opinions. While I respect yours, I must disagree. I'm definitely NOT a country music buff! You're right that the guitars don't scream at you in Classic Country! But I love screaming guitars, bangin' drums, full-on bass and a loud obnoxiously wonderful vocalist! We all have our own music interest. If yours is Classic Country, all the power to you! Rock on!

Johnny Paycheck

Take This Job and Shove It - Johnny Paycheck

1977 hit song by Johnny Paycheck as performed on "Pop Goes the Country". "Take This Job and Shove It" is a song by David Allan Coe about the bitterness of a man who worked long and hard with no apparent reward. The song was famously covered by Johnny Paycheck. The song was also covered in a more upbeat style by the Dead Kennedys on their album Bedtime for Democracy. It is most recently known for its use by many websites and radio stations - individuals can have a local radio station call and quit their job for them on the air by playing the song, or can send an email with the song through several websites.

Hey~Rock fans. I don't exclusively like classic country. I do like some rock that I listened to in the 70's and 80's, and now thanks to my teenaged boys, I listen to more of it. Bret Michaels song on Poisons newest album, "I Never Cry" I love! I like some Alice Cooper,Rod Stewart,CCR, and Bon Jovi's "Miracle" and "Bang A Drum", and Guns N' Roses "Knocking On Heavens Door". I like classical and walztes, too. So, you see, I like a variety.
