HERE'S WHAT I THINK

Classic Country is Better Than Rock

It has more of a down to earth sound and southern drawl to it, and the guitars don't scream at you. Some kinds of rock sounds o.k., but classic country (not that new stuff that isn't even country), is BEST!!!

YOUR TURN!

Is classic country better than rock?

Yes, you're right!

allways has been allways will be

Spike Jones says:

I grew up in the 60's and 70's and hated country! Now i look for the classic stuff. Really enjoying Conway and Loretta these days. It reminds me of when I was a kid because those were the sounds I remember the most. My Mom's music. Now that she's gone I find new meaning in the music.

kansasww says:

With out country music rock wouldn't be here !

TheWhistler says:

Country rocks!

BevsPaper says:

Classic country is the best. As for the comment about it having no rythym .... where do ya think the term "foot stompin' music" came from?

Countryman says:

The Highway Men was, is, and always will be better than KISS.

paul ashworth liverpool england says:

kiwisoutback says:

Mmm...no. I've never been able to stomach country of any sort. I agree with FlashAllen, Rock N Roll Ain't Noise Pollution!

Carol says:

Country music (old or new) drives me crazy. I can't stand the drawl, the twang, the nasal voices, the gloomy topics...give me rock any day.

FlashAllen says:

ARE YOU CRAZY? Rock is soooooooooo much better than country and rock never faileth. And for those about to rock WE SALUTE YOU.

:( says:

NOT TRUE!!!
Rock has so much more life and meaning!!!
You can't beat The Beatles now can you?!!!
Country may tell good stories, but it has no rhythm to it!!!

riff999 says:

It's gotta be rock and roll music if you want to dance with me.

fefe says:

I don't listen to a lot of classic country.

LouVozza says:

Classic country is great, but I still play Gimme Shelter by the Rolling Stones to wake me up in the morning.

says:

That's what is great about this country, we can all have our own opinions. While I respect yours, I must disagree. I'm definitely NOT a country music buff! You're right that the guitars don't scream at you in Classic Country! But I love screaming guitars, bangin' drums, full-on bass and a loud obnoxiously wonderful vocalist! We all have our own music interest. If yours is Classic Country, all the power to you! Rock on!

Johnny Cash Anybody?

Johnny Cash - I Walk The Line

The late Johnny Cash was one of the most influential figures in American music in the post war period. He managed to combine elements of folk, rock 'n' roll and country, which together with his distinctive voice and guitar style, created an instantly recognisable sound. 1994 was to prove to be Cash's only appearance at the Montreux Festival. The "Man In Black" had just released his acclaimed American Recordings album and his European tour took in Montreux on July 5. This track is taken from ...

Johnny Paycheck ~ Old Violin

A one-time hell-raising renegade from Greenfield, Ohio, Johnny Paycheck took to playing music and raising hell at young age.
