Classic Toys Never Go Out of Style
As a parent, one of my favorite things to do is play with my kids. And the best part about playing with my kids is getting to play with some of the toys that were my favorites when I was their age.

Are kids these days familiar with the simple joys of playing with Tinkertoys and Lincoln Logs? Do little girls play with Easy Bake Ovens anymore?

I don't want my kids to grow up not knowing what it feels like to fly down a hill in a bright red Radio Flyer wagon or how to play Chutes and Ladders or Candy Land on an actual board game - not the computer.

Here is a list of what I would consider "Classic Toys" that I fondly remember (or wish I had received as a child). I've broken them down by ages, but we all know that you are never too old for toys.

What Makes a Toy "Classic"?
Toys made from wood are usually a good start. Yes, there are classic toys (like Lego) that are made from plastic, but there is something solid about playing with toys made from wood.If you have to create your own sound effects - it's a Classic Toy. I've included Lego Mindstorms as a classic toy simply because it is Lego. However, you still have to build the robot and program it so that definitely keeps it in the Classic category.
A toy that was fun to play with 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, etc. years ago and is still fun to play with now.
Another favorite point of mine about classic toys is that 9 times out of 10 you can usually be guaranteed that you have to use your brain either via your imagination or to figure out if it was Colonel Mustard in the Library with the knife.
Any toy that teaches and fosters a desire for further learning.
