Classical Guitar Nail Shape
Slide Technique
A Left Hand Technique
Some Forms of this technique being used in a Classical setting can be seen in such songs as Julia Florida by Agustin Barrios.
Learning the slide technique with more than just one finger is very important because the slide is used as a positional transition and many times when the slide is finished that same finger becomes an anchor for the next phrase of music.

Drop D tuning is used for this Tab part of Julia Florida
To achieve Drop D tuning take a standard tuned guitar and lower the low E string one whole step.

Palm Muting
A Right Hand Technique
Palm Muting on the Classical guitar gives a dampening effect
with a slightly percussive sound to the notes.
One good example of this technique being used can be heard in the beginning of
Afro-Cuban Lullabye.
Drop D Tuning is used For this Tab of the opening note of Afro-Cuban Lullabye.

- Nice lens. Not sure why there is an Amazon Module about shirts though. Perhaps you should change it to something more related to the topic like books or video training products.

- Great lens, though I don't play classical guitar, I love listening to it. The techniques are almost the same for all guitar players into different genres and styles. Segovia & Paco de Lucia are legends !

- Just about everything. I would be interested to know if you think anyone has surpassed Segovia, and if so, who and how.

- Hi Graceonline,
I don't think I could ever compare all the incredible things Mr. Segovia has given to the classical guitar with other artists. He just did so much that it's overwhelming just to think about.
I can tell you that I'm becoming a big fan of Roland Dyen's and his interpretations. His approach to a song in it's whole is incredibly alive. I believe there is real genius and great respect for the music he interprets and writes.
