A page for classic gamers who enjoy playing vintage video game systems such as the Atari, NES, Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo and N64. This is a lens of my video game memories and where to obtain some of these old school video games online. Take a walk with me back in time to the golden age of gaming when Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Mario and Sonic ruled the gaming world.

I really enjoy playing old video games for the systems such as the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo, my 2 all time favorite systems. My goal is to promote the classic video games that we played in the past and hopefully still play occasionally. Those who are in their mid 20's and older can really relate to this lens. I started out on the original NES system when I was about 8, and at that time, I was blown away with how awesome it was. Who could have known that in 25 years what the graphics and game options would be? I remember blowing on the old NES carts and reinserting the game until the system worked and breaking out the rubbing alcohol with the q-tip to clean the contacts. I was so pumped up when the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo came out because they functioned better with minimal blowing, cleaning, and better graphics without having to wiggle the game around until you found that special spot. Those were the days I remember with much fondness and spent a great deal of time playing my favorite games. My 2 favorite systems of all time are the Super Nintendo and the Sega Genesis.

My 6 year old is an ace at the Nintendo Gamecube and Nintendo Wii and yet where I used to think I was a pretty good gamer, in modern games, I'm not as good as I'd like to be. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy trying to play the Wii and Gamecube but primarily keep playing my old systems.

I'm a diehard Nintendo fan and was a huge Sega fan as well. I was heartbroken when Sega closed up shop in regards to making systems though they still have involvement in producing games, etc. I have dozens of favorite games ranging from rpg's, shooters, action and adventure, strategy, etc an eclectic mix. Some of my favorite games among various systems: All TMNT games, all Super Mario Bros, Dune, Golden Axe 1 and 2, Super Metroid, World Driver GT, Bass Hunter, Phantasy Star's, Dragon Warriors, Zelda games, and Sonic the Hedgehog series. This is just a small percentage of some of the games I played the most and probably left a few hundred off the list:) I also remember playing on the Atari 2600 and 5200 system at my friend's home but never had an atari growing up.

Please feel free to post here, contact me, suggest duels, etc. I have another squidoo lens where little Howie and I tackle old school games together to see how we do. May 27th, we just beat Golden Axe 2 on the Sega Genesis. If you're a gamer and love old video games, check that out as well since it will interest you.

On another note, in regards to buying/selling online, I'm NOT A FAN of the auction site EBAY. Their fee increases and lack of respect to sellers with radical changes for corporate greed turn my stomach. I ran a store(s) there for a number of years until I closed them down due to these reasons. There are a few great sites out there that are 100 percent free to sell at: I use Blujay myself and have a blujay store there. I suggest for all of you to make just one purchase off a site such as blujay, and find out how much better interaction is between the buyer and seller. Currently Blujay has over 500,000 different items listed, when I started in Feb 2008 was a little over 300,000 so it is growing rapidly. Blujay is the 2nd largest totally free store site on the web. Through my research and of other sellers, Blujay has a higher sell ratio and more repeat customers than other sites. I welcome any and all comments and feedback.

July 30: Just added about 15 more SNES games to my store inventory.

In September will be adding dozens of more games so check by often to see if I have the game you desire. I often have games that I haven't listed yet and/or in storage so feel free to ask about a certain game.

November: Xmas is about upon us so I've added more to the store with more to come soon. Feel free to browse and if you don't see a game you want, email me because I could have it in storage.

Feb: Have sold a lot of games so I restocked some and put a bunch of more Sega Genesis games in the store.

May: Have listed several complete SNES games from my own collection.

Hints for a more successful Blujay Store

Through some research and experiences, of my own and fellow blujayers, I have found out ways to get your store more sales.

Remember when you sign up for your store that your username will be your store name so choose something that could reflect what you sell. You can have as many stores as you like so you can sell certain items in various stores if you desire. When you create the about ME PAGE use the first few lines to use keywords/what you sell. This is picked up by search engine spiders and save the personal information for later on in the paragraph. Make sure your item titles are spelled correctly and are descriptive without a lot of punctuation so that those searching the web can find your item. Make sure you fill out your Sales Policy and I find that accepting Google Checkout, Paypal, and USPS money orders offer easy and secure payment choices.

Since all free sites don't have the advertising to bring sellers in like Amazon and Ebay you should promote your store to pick up extra traffic/sales. I suggest at the bare minimum starting a Squidoo lens about your store, and either joining a few google and/or yahoo selling groups, etc to help bring in consistent sales. You get out of a site what you put into it. There are numerous other promoting techniques such as Kaboodle, My Space, etc but I am trying to keep it simple.

You should always submit your store and all promoting urls to the search engines. Then resubmit at least 2-3 times a year. This is self explanatory since you don't want your pages to be considered outdated. Don't submit to often or it can cause you to be ignored by search engines for spamming, etc. You can submit directly to Google, Yahoo, and MSN but there are other sites that submit your urls to various engines and I use a free one called submitexpress dot com.

Check into the blujay forums and don't be afraid to ask questions and read about how those that are successful are making regular sales. This helped me out immensely and now I am trying to give back to others. You can also email former buyers and let them know about your new home. Blujay allows link and HTML. Blujay has a very simple listing format and is done using only 1 page.

If anyone has any questions about blujay and/or thinking about starting a store there, I encourage you to visit Blujay and explore the site. Don't forget to add your Blujay store to my list, right now there are 42 blujay stores listed here on my lens and thats a great way to promote your store right there, add it to anything you can.

Awesome games RPG's and classics I've added recently to my blujay store

I love rpg's and in my store I have some great Sega Genesis rpgs. Phantasy Star 4 IV, Might and Magic Gates to Another World, and Shining in the Darkness for example. I also have some awesome Sega games like Warrior of Rome 1 and 2. I have a variety of rare rpg and other video games to the more common classics. Another example: I have Rainbow Islands aka commonly known as Bubble Bobble 2 for the Nintendo, or NES system. I have Zelda, Super Mario Bros 1, 2, and 3. I have some Donkey Kong and Sonic games, and numerous other classics. It's worth a look to feast your eyes on some great, vintage video games. I have games that I haven't listed so feel free to ask if I have a certain game.

I sell games because I like some money for my hobbies like collecting video games I currently don't have, marbles, and buying my boys things they like (toys and video games). Also, I like to share some of the best games with everyone. I love talking about games so feel free to chat about various games, I'm into that. If you have ever beaten Dune The Battle for Arrakis we are like family. I confess I have only beaten the game in House Atreides and almost made it in Ordos many times. That is my all time favorite game right there so tell me yours. Feel free to leave a note or contact me if you're an old school gamer.

I just posted photos of Golden Axe 2 which Howie and I just beat. This is a great Sega Genesis game that I enjoy, and I'll continue to update photos every now and then.

Super Mario Bros games vs. Sonic the Hedgehog games

Who ruled, why?

It's Nintendo's backbone: Mario and Luigi through the ages versus Sega's Trademark Sonic the Hedgehog. Let's confine this to NES and Sega Genesis since Nintendo has bought rights to produce Sega's licensed games. Voice your opinion and be heard.

I'm amazed at how little there is about the Nintendo 64 on Squidoo.
I just made a lens on the best N64 multiplayer games.
Glad to find there's others out there promoting the classics!
