Cleaning for fun and purpose!

Cleaning my home is a perpetual job. A working mother of four attempts to keep the house organized and free of dust bunnies. Do you think I accomplish this on a regular basis? Those dust bunnies seem to allude me at every turn but I do succeed in keeping all my cookbooks in one place. This industry seems to be taking off with so many books on cleaning, organizing, feng shui and clutter. I hope this lens helps inspire just ten minutes a week of cleaning the place in which you live!

Why is this woman intrigued by cleaning?

The book Bicycle For Sale started it all!

A few years ago, I read "Oswald: Bicycle for Sale" to my daughter. At the time, the show "Oswald" seen on Nick Jr. was adored by all in our family. In the book, Oswald decides to sell his worn our bike in order to buy a new, shiny one.

Each character shows interest in his bike but says if only the seat was not torn or if only the tires had white trim. As each character points a flaw, Oswald fixes that particular item. Ultimately, the bike looks beautiful and new again. This causes Oswald to change his mind about selling the bike.

After reading this book, I looked at the walls of my bedroom and saw the dust bunnies. So I clean the corners of the ceiling and dusted around the windows. Then cleared off all the old magazines from my side tables and "voila" my bedroom looked a little nicer.

My Cleaning Helper!

Mrs. Meyers

Cleaning experts discuss the right tools to get you started. Remember the feather duster craze in the 70's. Those tools like the swiffer do not live in my home. But a sponge and Mrs. Myer's countertop spray cleaner happily reside in my kitchen and bathrooms.

A quick spritz with Lavendar or Lemon Verbena on the countertops removes the grime and a pleasant smell wafts around.

Mrs. Meyers Clean Day
Cleaning experts discuss the right tools to get you started. I remember the feather duster craze in the 70's. I don't possess any of the right tools for cleaning. However, Mrs. Myer's countertop spray cleaner and a sponge helps my kitchen and bathrooms sparkle. Another incentive is that it is environmentally friendly.
