Keeping Poodles clean.

Not many people keep their Poodles with long hair. Too much work keeping them nice and clean.
But, I love Poodles in long coats. They are so elegant. I always wondered how to keep poodles clean from sand dust during Summer, dry twigs and seeds during Fall, snow balls forming in Winter, and everything together Spring time???
and, yet, allow them to run in parks, tall grasses etc.
Brushing is a must and the key to beautiful healthy Poodle coat.
I also found little things that help me to keep my Poodles clean, and save time and money.

The rain coat is breathable!!! Every time I take my Poodles to run in the park I put the coats on them. They don't mind it. After the park rain suit is off, and all the mad, dust, twigs go with it :)
Winter time... I love the look of snow "cling-on"s (snow balls) on a Poodle - cute picture. But, it takes a nice warm long shower to get them off of Poodles hair.
Plus boots - to save`those precious paws from getting iced, irritated from salt and chemicals on winter streets, or simply very dirty. Again, time saved - no need to wash the paws.
Rainy day - rain coat, otherwise, 2 hours of drying hair with hair dryer ( or else - MATS will form in no time).

Now, the indoor dirt-dangers: my Poodles enjoy chewing meaty bones. They hold bones with their "hands". After bone bonanza bracelets are very dirty (meat, blood). My solution to this: cut-off old socks to make "arm"-sleeves. And do not forget the ears - guard them from getting dirty and eaten-off by the Poodle - a snood makes all the difference. You can make a snood out of leggings that are too small for your kids: cut off the top part of them - perfect ear guard.
