Celebrating Life & Wine at Cleavage Creek
Cleavage Creek Cellars owner Budge Brown is driven by two passions ... making exceptional wines, and fighting breast cancer, a disease he has recently dealt with in a very personal way.
Meet Budge Brown
Hard-working and successful his entire life, Budge Brown had every reason to look forward to growing old gracefully with his wife, Arlene. But the couple were dealt a nasty blow. In 2005, Arlene lost a 7-year, often agonizing battle with cancer, leaving her husband of 48 years alone, devastated, and angry. Already established with the Budge Brown Family Winery, Brown purchased the Cleavage Creek label and began producing fine wines with the intent of raising awareness about breast cancer. "The world is full of people who enjoy good wines," says Brown. "When they buy Cleavage Creek products, they get a world class wine while helping to find a cure for breast cancer. Everybody wins. When people learn about Cleavage Creek and the motivation behind it, well, if it reminds one person to go for a checkup, do a self-examination, or become more informed, we're accomplishing my goal of saving lives. The cure for breast cancer may not come in my lifetime, but the mere existence of Cleavage Creek could bring it along sooner rather than later. Job done." The Wines of Cleavage Creek Cellars
