Is Clickbank a Scam?

When people first decide to venture into the world of affiliate marketing and want to sell other people's products, Clickbank is undoubtably one of the first affiliate networks that you run across. It is not only one of the most popular, but it is also one of the oldest as well. However, it has many asking, "Is Clickbank a scam?"

There are a number of reasons for this. First, and most obvious, Clickbank only allows one type of payment method--check. For those of you who would prefer to have your commissions directly deposited to your bank account or to a Pay Pal account, Clickbank is not for you. UUPDATE: As of Sept. 2008, Clickbank now offers direct deposit, but you have to get 3 paper checks in the mail within a 90-day period before you are eligible. Clickbank sure does not make it easy. In addition, you must have 5 commissions before you can receive your first check! One has to be a MasterCard, another has to be a Visa, and Pay Pal transactions don't count towards this 5-count minimum!

Secondly, Clickbank charges a fee on every commssion you make that is equal to $1 - the purchase price * 7.5%. The more the product the larger the Clicbank fee you must pay. In addition, Clickbank holds 10% of your commissions for refunds.

Thirdly, because Clickbank offers downloadable digital products, there are people who will purchase a product, and then they will ask for a refund and keep the product. After all you cannot return a downloadbable product. Many Clickbank product have very high refund rates. When you consider all of this, it is really easy to see why many people would be asking whether or not Clickbank is a scam.

Although Clickbank is popular and has its advantages, once I learned of all this, I wanted something better. I wanted a Clickbank alternative that offered the ease of use of Clickbank and the higher-quality merchants of the larger affiliate networks that was not difficult to get appoved for.

Benefits of Pepperjam Affiliate Network

After some research, I encountered the Pepperjam affiliate network. The Pepperjam affiliate network was launched earlier this year on January 12, 2008. It has been billed as the affiliate network created by affiliates for affiliates.

Its main goal is to bridge the gap between Clickbank and the larger affiliate networks out there like Commission Junction, Linkshare and others. Although, at first, I was skeptical, the Pepperjam affiliate network not only meet my expections, it knocked them out of the park! There are so many reasons to love the Pepperjam affiliate network, I cannot even begin to tell you.

Guaranteed Acceptance (almost): Although Pepperjam tells you your acceptance into the program is not guaranteed, it might as well be. Because the Pepperjam affiliate network is so new, it is looking for affiliates and accepts nearly everyone. You can even be accepted with a blog from Blogger.com

With nearly 300 popular merchants to choose from and new ones being added every day, including Nelly's "Apple Bottom," Jennifer Lopez's "Just Sweet" collection, AeroGow AeroGarden, Baby Phat, Phat Farm, Beyonce's "Dereon" collection and many more! In addition, acceptance into these programs and nearly all of Pepperjam network's merchants is automatic! As of July 1, 2008, the Pepperjam affiliate network is offering a $10 sign-up bonus for new affiliates as well!

Unlike many other affiliate networks, Pepperjam affiliate network realizes how important its affiliates are, which is why they created Pepperjam chat. Pepperjam chat is a way for affiliates to contact merchants via direct chat concerning questions, problems, possible affiliate percentage increases and more. If ever you would like to speak to an affiliate manager, e-mail is another option.

One of the things I absolutely love about the Pepperjam affiliate network is the fact that it does not charge any fees per commission that you make, unlike Clickbank and other larger merchants. With Pepperjam affiliate network, all of the fees are paid by the merchant, so if you make $50, you really make $50! Not only does Pepperjam offer the merchants mentioned above and high-quality merchants like them, it also offers pay-per-lead programs that pay between $7 - $50 just for getting someone to sign up for a free trial or joining a mailing list! Pepperjam affiliate network is also now giving $10 bonus sign ups for all new affiliates as well! No other affiliate network does that. In addition, the Pepperjam payout amount is only $25, and which the $10 sign-on bonus, that means you will only have to make a sale or two (depending on what you are promoting) before you receive a check/deposit.

For those of you who are tired of dealing with Clickbank and its scamish ways, I strongly encourage you to check out the Pepperjam affiliate network. It offers the ease of use of Clickbank with high-quality merchants (many of whose products are promoted on T.V.) you would expect to find on the big-name affiliate networks. You can sign up for a free blog from Blogger.com If you do not have a business name, use your own name.
