Sorry I've been away for awhile, I have missed you!!! But we're back in full force, and ready to resume The Mission :) This lens needs a serious face-lift, and I'm ready and willing ... so Let's GOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!!!!

I'm going to be adding lots of NEW content, but things that I think are important will remain -- such as the "Mission Statement" stated directly below. So don't forget to keep coming back for your Daily Clicks ... and as always, Food For THEM is still FREE For YOU !!!

F.Y.I... "Fostering" is not the same as "adopting" -- it is not a permanent situation. When you "foster" a pet, YOU ARE SAVING TWO LIVES -- the life of the pet you foster briefly, and the one that takes this one's place in a shelter.

By fostering a shelter pet for a short time, you are giving the gift of time -- time for the fostering agency to locate a forever home for the one that you are caring for, and time for the one that takes its place in the shelter to perhaps be fostered or adopted, too. Usually only about 2-3 weeks is all that is needed of your time.

You are free to choose the pet you foster. IT COSTS YOU NOTHING EXCEPT FOOD for the pet, which comes to you spayed or neutered, fully vetted, wormed, up-to-date on vaccines and having had any health issues resolved.

The animal will also have been evaluated by the time it comes into your home ... Do you have children? What are their ages? Do you have other pets? How much time do you have at home to include a pet? All of these concerns and many others have already been addressed before you receive your Foster Friend.

But What if You FAIL "Foster-101"? (We Did) 

The Greatest Pitfall of Fostering is the "Falling In Love" Factor

WARNING / DANGER: You could fall in love with your fostered pet. Should that occur, you will probably decide to adopt, thereby joining the swelling ranks of "Foster Failures." Don't feel badly about it, though... We failed fostering miserably, and that's our foster-cum-adoptee, Toby, pictured at your right.

The procedure goes something like this ...

You decide that yes, you will help out a little by fostering a shelter pet -- since it's ONLY going to be for a VERY short time. But soon you become just a little worried ... You might really like this pet. Noooooooo, that isn't what you had in mind ... you were just gonna foster a dog or cat for a couple of weeks until the agency finds it a home. NOT your home. No way.

But day by day, you become more familiar with this pet ... you find yourself enjoying him or her, and looking forward to the happy, excited greeting you receive every time you enter its presence... The quiet time at the end of the day, the warm head snuggled in your lap as you stroke silky ears... You LIKE this pet ... ummmmm, OK, maybe it's more than that ... you are falling in love.

The agency calls you, telling you that they have someone interested in possibly adopting this particular pet -- which, after all, was what the original goal had been.

Now what? Oh -- Did I happen to mention that you have first dibs on the pet you have fostered ... ??? You have been warned -- heart may be in danger.

TAG -- you're "IT" ... Game Over -- You WIN !!!

Not into ... ummmmm.... "Regular" Pets???
