About Clicky

As a webmaster, It's never been a more important time to see who's visiting your pages. You really do need to know who is visiting your user profile pages on the internet's most popular social networking and bookmarking sites - many of which provide no analytics tracking whatsoever...and worse yet, make it impossible to add popular tracking programs like Google Analytics, due to Javascript being blocked.

The only solution is to use an HTML counter. Yet another problem exists - most of them suck. There is hope - an inexpensive solution known as Clicky. This HTML-based analytics counter provides a wealth of web statistics, and is the only service offering a full-fledged campaign and goal tracker for paid ads and conversions. If you're looking for a way around tracking Javascript-disabled pages, Clicky should be a major contender!

Here's a more in-depth look at Clicky - use all of this information to make a decision in your best interests!

Clicky Dashboard

It's like Analytics - Only Cleaner
Clicky's dashboard is simple and to the point: giving you a snapshot of your sites' core statistics: Visits, Visitors, Actions, Time Spent, Page Views and more. The real selling point of Clicky is that everything you see here is updated in real time! It's a rare feature that not even the likes of Google Analytics can provide. Any marketer knows that waiting a quarter of a day for your statistics to refresh doesn't cut it - making the $30/year cost of Clicky worth it for this feature alone.

Daily visit charts display a time-disbursed view of visits and actions - whether that be click-throughs to a specific place of your choosing, or conversions (items sold, items downloaded or forms filled out). We'll get to conversions a bit later in this review, though.

Clicky Content Counter

Getting to Know Your Audience
When it comes to tracking content, it's easy to track who came from where with inbound and outbound traffic charts. The incoming links section lets you see who is linking to your page, and the outgoing links section gives you insight into what seems to be catching the user's eye most prominently on the page itself. Improve and adjust accordingly to this important metric! Integrate this data with Clicky's conversion tracking feature, and display all of the data in either bar chart or cloud format. Track files downloaded from the page, too. Save the data to a file, and send it to your advertising clients as proof of your site's performance.

Clicky HTML counter map visitor view

All-Inclusive World Map View
The ever-popular AJAX-fueled visitor map is sure to please, with a visitor count displayed when you hover over each region. Click a country to zoom into it, down into states or provinces. Get further statistics about regions, cities, languages, hostnames and organizations.

Right: An additional map named the "recent visitor map" shows an up-to-the-minute view of who has visited your page. Click through their IP address to get further information. The View Session link lists further data about the user, such as computer specs, IP lookup, location and more. Name each user, so that their name shows up on the pin point the next time they visit you!

Funnel Statistics, Conversions & More

Time to get a little more advanced: Clicky allows you to define and track a conversion goal, which can be a time when a visitor buys something, fills out a form or peforms another action, such as downloading a file. Every time one of these things happens, Clicky will record it, and give you a full "path" or funnel as to how that visitor got to that point. In other words, you can see all of the steps they took to get to the "final purchase," or whatever else you set the goal for. If you're Javascript savvy, the option is there to modify this code to tag each visitor's step of the way...just in case you really wanted to see what they were up to.

Widgets? Plenty!

Clicky Widgets

Beyond all of those analytics Clicky has, it also offers a host of really cool web 2.0 widgets that you can display on your blog or site. Just like Clicky itself, these widgets are dynamic and auto-update as new things happen. There's even a Clicky Wordpress plugin, letting you easily track your Wordpress blogs.

How Much Does Clicky Cost?

Clicky offers a "6-months for free" discount for those who renew annually instead of monthly, making it pointless to not go for an annual plan! (Read up on each plan for their specific features and limitations)
  • Blogger Plan: $29.99/year, tracking for 3 sites
  • Pro Plan: $69.99/year, tracking for 10 sites
  • Super Pro Plan: $129.99/year, tracking for 30 sites

Clicky vs. The Rest!

Clicky is the ultimate solution for anyone looking to expand their tracking to sites that block Javascript - whether that's your favorite social networking site, or even the one you're looking at right now: Squidoo! Add it to your user profile page, or any of your blog or product pages. Enjoy its real-time updated data - not even Google Analytics offers it! It's a simple yet sophisticated web tracker for those looking to get to the point and see what's going on behind the Java-blocked lines of their pages.
