Duck Duck Goose

Replace an old favorite with a new, simply substitute words from the theme for "duck" and "goose," with names from the Clifford TV Show. For example, use "Emily, Emily, Clifford.. As long as you explain the new words to the children, any words you select will work just fine.

Hot Potato

You can use virtually any item for the "potato" for this old favorite. Find a stuffed or plastic toy of Clifford, to use as the hot potato. Use music from the theme topic for an added bonus.

Simon Says

Another old favorite that becomes new. Use a name from the theme; such as here we will use "Clifford". One person is chosen to be "Clifford" the others stand in a straight line. Clifford then calls out an action for the children to follow. It can be anything like.... touch your nose, hop on one foot, turn around twice......& etc. If Clifford when giving an action simply states the action by itself...such as "touch your nose" then anyone who does the action is out and has to sit down. If the action is stated as: "Clifford says, touch your nose" then everyone must follow the instruction. You can vary the actions according to the age group of children who are playing. The last person who is standing can then be "Clifford"!

Telephone

Everyone sits in a circle. The first person whispers a message to the person next to them in the circle. Each person in turn tries to repeat the same message to the person next to them. The last person in the circle repeats the message out loud. Unfortunately, by the time it gets to the end of the circle the message has changed completely. Then the person who started the message tells everyone what the actual message originally was.

For our Clifford themed party, have them start a message about something they know about Clifford himself (you might have to help the younger ones come up with a message.)
