Hero Guide Clockwerk Goblin Rattletrap

Introducing the new DoTA Hero : The Clockwerk Goblin Rattletrap. Originated from World of Warcraft (WoW), this robotic terror comes in handy with a few pros and cons. It is always like that with any other DoTA heroes. It all depends on how you use them. The same thing goes to Rattletrap. In this lens, I will show you how to use Clockwerk Goblin Rattletrap wisely, creatively and perhaps even GODLIKE

Originally, the character is the by-product of Goblin technological weapon research during the old War, Rattletrap the Clockwerk Goblin was shut away into storage for countless decades until the Sentinel found and reactivated him. But still, there are some style or tricks to use this hero.

In DoTA, if you are using this hero for guide and break through the middle, then this is one of the best choice. But combat-wise, this goblin's capabilities know few bounds; his body is stocked with a huge array of armaments that destroy targets both near and far with ease. His trademark wrench can even extend itself like a grappling hook, allowing him to pick off individual targets with pin-point accuracy.

Abilities

Battery Assault (E)
Discharges high-powered shrapnel from openings in Rattletrap's clockwork upon a random nearby target dealing minor magical damage and ministun every 0.75 seconds. Lasts 10 seconds .

Power Cogs (C)

The Clockwerk Goblin ejects pieces of his inner core to form a circular barrier around him, trapping nearby units in with him. These cogs require 3 attacks from an enemy to be destroyed before their expiration time. If an enemy unit with mana goes near an element from the outside it gets shocked for some hp and mana and is knocked back. An element powers down if it shocks a unit.

Rocket Flare (R)
Fires a fast moving missile at a target area on the map, revealing the targeted area. Upon impact it damages enemy units in the 600 AOE explosion. Reveals explosion location for 10 seconds.

Hookshot (T)
Fires a grappling, piston-like attachment at a unit or location. It will latch on the first non-neutral enemy target it encounters, pulling you to it. Any enemies whom you collide with while being reeled toward the target will take damage and be stunned.

Tips:

You can help others by sending Rockets A LOT!!-only cost you 50 mana. Can also help you for creeping. Upgrade its power first.

Strategies - Rattletrap

Trap Rattling

Get close to your victim, activate your battery, then activate your cage. When the cage runs out, keep running next to your enemy, and if possible step in front, hit them, and continue chasing until you get in front, then repeat.

Trap, Rattle, Blast!

Do some Trap Rattling, but missle your own cage while you're in it with your victim for added damage.

Hook, Line, Sinker.

Hook yourself to your victim, activate battery, wait until the stun ends, run alongside your enemy (if they moved), cage, missle the cage. This is your ultimate combo.

Early Game:

Try to get Sentinel Bot or Scourge Top and a disabling lane partner for early game. If you happen to be against their solo then at level 2 have your ally disable them, get behind them and pull off a Trap Rattle from the strategies above. This should net you first blood. Afterwards, stay in your lane to gather last hits and some experience. Don't be afraid to gank once you have a bracer and boots as your abilities are very powerful early.

Mid Game:

This is your time to shine. Gank using the Hook Line, and Sinker combo above whenever you see a hero alone in their lane. Be sure to participate in any team battles and help your allies if they are in trouble. You should complete your core items except for radiance during early and mid game.

Late Game:

Late game becomes more about team battles. Let someone else initiate unless you have a heart, then hookshot a low health target and perform the Hook, Line, Sinker, strategy. Late game you should get a radiance to improve your damage during this or a heart to allow you to better withstand punishment during this.

This skill build is taken from DotaPortal as i haven't try it yet myself, but i will update this guide soon. I hope this can help you and i will like to hear your experience with Rattletrap - The Goblin Clockwerk :)

Surprise Them!!

Guide:

- Can be improved by Aghanim's Scepter (* shows the improved values).
- (**) Latch/stun AoE
- The affected enemy will be paused until the hook retreats.
- Colliding with a neutral creep, or with an allied unit (without Aghanim's Scepter) will stop the hook for no effect.

Updates:

1. Should buy Bracers and Power thread for speed.
2. Concentrate on upgrading Rockets and Cog first. Somehow I didn't the first ability to be amusing. I don't know about you guys.
3. Use the rockets a lot. It helps you for creeping.
4. I prefer Sange Yasha and Helm of Dominator for this guy.
5. Use the trap Cog if you find invisible rune. Go hunting
6. I just knew what is the use of the first skill. Haha. It is very useful if you trapped AN ENEMY and no creeps around. Just watch your enemy get stunned!!

I'll keep you posted. Tell us your ideas on the below of the page :)

He's one of my favorite heroes :) So much fun, especially playing him like a suicidal guy... hook, battery, cog, deathmatch vs two heroes time!

Hi there question, I normally use the cog when invisible ( I use bottle to capture invisible rune and use it to ambush) or when I can pretty sure that it will get caught. C

oz the shocked will happen after you activate it not before it when enemy approach using mana.

Try a lot, you'll get it soon. Good Luck :)

ive tried using this hero. the only problem i have is using the power cog. how do u make sure they get trap inside it wif u instead of enemy being shocked away n ure alone inside the cage???

its so annoying when tat happens. i was near them a few times n i use power cog and they get shocked away. Seems like the most time it worked was when they are attacking me as well. but tat cant be the only time to use it
