C.L.O.K. - The True Unsigned Hype

C.L.O.K. is the very emcee that'll bring lyricism back to the game. I bump his stuff all the time and it hits so hard in the ride that when I'm sitting at a red light people can't tell if I'm bumpin' Christian or secular music. They just see me bobbin' my head so hard that my neck might break. Reppin' Tampa, Florida, where not a lot of emcees come from, keep your eyes out for this dude.

Someone Sign This Kid!!!!

A lot of rappers poultry cold cuts but old lunch/ collecting mold I eat'em up, thow up and blow chunks/ I'm so mad I think about'em and gag we allow them to brag/ and do albums about things they don't want us to have/

C.L.O.K flaunts a humble but confident aura of a young man who will not lose. For nearly ten years, this young man has gained the respect of the underground hip-hop scene battling MC's from all over the nation. He has rocked MIC's from all parts of Florida to Detroit, and back. He has done shows all over the Tampa Bay area from the college scenes at the University Of South Florida, to a number of churches. His lyricism tears down the average MC, and yet uplifts the community.

With his status as an underground legend secure, C.L.O.K. aims to set a higher standard, with the heavily anticipated release "The Resume". He will have little trouble living up to his own lofty ambitions with the production talents of such gritty beatmakers as Jose "Beatsmith" Rodriguez (Miami "Hit Factory", asst The Carter II, track 5 "mo Fire"), Dave Benck (asst Cash Money "Like Father like Son"), Alex "Arolace" Romero (Benny Blanco), and Bangah (TVT Ying Yang Twins, Jackie O, and Cash Money Currency). "This album is a compilation of original tracks that shows my skills, experience, and capabilities to get the job done%u2026just like a resume." Says C.L.O.K.

And yet as if laying down slamming tracks for his own up and coming album wasn't enough, C.L.O.K. has released tracks for other artists and film makers. Working with Actor/Film maker Desmond Walker he helped lay down the score for the movie "Envy" starring rapper "AZ", Lisa Raye, and Ray J. He also is a featured guest onMahogany Jones' CD "The Gathering" and has upcoming projects with 2five The Hood Rev (affiliated with Kurtis Blow).

Born in New Jersey, but eventually moving to the warmer climate of Tampa, FL, C.L.O.K. was a boy with little interest in school. His real passion was playing basketball. However, when he was kicked off the varsity basketball team for poor grades, he realized his dreams of playing college basketball were down the drain. Instead he turned his focus to his hobby of writing rhymes. Initially he focused his rhymes like everyone else, on the issues of the day. At that time, he had a lifestyle of drinking, smoking, partying, and breaking the law. However, in October of 2003, all that changed. C.L.O.K. grew tired of the lifestyle the world had to offer him, and gave his life to Christ. Since then, his rhymes are a forced to be reckoned with uplifting God and drawing the people without condemning. "My goal is to bridge the gap between secular and Christian music without compromising my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ." Says C.L.O.K.

C.L.O.K. is a top-notch lyricist with many styles under his belt. His influences stemmed from his love of all genres of music from reggae, hip-hop, and R&B, to alternative and heavy metal. He has original word play and a very bold and confident delivery. He has been compared to Jay-Z, Nas, Rakim, Fabolous, Jadakiss, Can-I-bus, and a number of other artists. And yet his message put's him in a class by himself.
