Three reasons to love Clonie Gowen

Before she got hooked on poker, she moved to Dallas, Texas, where she is living today. She then started travelling to Shreveport, Louisiana on weekends and made a few hundred bucks - enough to make a living out of it. But her success in poker was only a fraction of what she got out of entering the World Poker Tour Costa Rica Classic. She finished top 10 and got an invitation to World Poker Tour Ladies' Night 2003. Despite top class players such as Annie Duke and Jennifer Harman, on top of millions of eagerly watching viewers, she proved she was the best by winning.

Clonie is an active team member of the Full Tilt Poker along with players like Howard Lederer, Phil Ivey, Chris Ferguson and Phil Gordon. In fact, this poker room was founded by professional players to give the regular people a chance to play against the big stars. It is not uncommon for Clonie Gowen to sit down at mid stake tables and give the other players a run for their money - something she's usually pretty good at.

Besides co-operating with others on a poker room, Clonie is a regular columnist for the acclaimed Bluff Magazine, a poker paper which is circulating in hundreds of thousands of copies. And as if that wasn't enough, Clonie assists the United States Poker Association (USPA) with her knowledge.

Clonie Gowen's winnings exceed $250,000 although we can tell for sure that she has other sources of income, let alone her position as a member of the Full Tilt Poker team, which surely brings in a buck or two. In other words, Clonie is successful and beautiful woman who knows how to bet and bluff.

The WSOP Main Event is finally over, the APPT Manila event is verging on the final table and Full Tilt's FTOPS X is approaching its conclusion; however today Full Tilt appears in the headlines for a reason away from the felt.
Team Full Tilt Member Clonie Gowen has filed a civil claim against Tiltware LLC et al.; which includes Tiltware LLC, Full Tilt Poker, Pocket Kings Ltd, Kolyma Corporation, A.V.V, Raymond Bitar and the 13 other Full Tilt Team members of Lederer, Ivey, Ferguson, Juanda, Harman, Gordon, Lindgren, Seidel, Bloch, Matusow, Hansen, Cunningham and Antonius.

The case was filled on Friday the 14th of November in the Nevada District Court; with the nature of the suit being cited as 'Other Contract' and the jurisdiction falling under 'Diversity'. Gowen's claims against the defendants include:

- Breach of Contract
- Breach of Fiduciary Duties
- Breach of Covenant of Good Faith and Fair Dealing
- Unjust Enrichment
- Fraud/Intentional Misrepresentation

In the complaint, Gowen alleges that in 2004 she was appointed a Full Tilt team member by accepting 1% ownership of Full Tilt Poker in exchange for being a celebrity representative. This 1% ownership interest was publicly exchanged through Gowen's brand representation and the wearing of Full Tilt merchandise and promotion.

According to the court document that PokerNetwork has obtained, Gowen claims that In May 2007 all Full Tilt Poker team members received distribution payments apart from her; she demanded distribution owing but was refused. The document further alleges that six months later Howard Lederer offered to pay her $250,000 for her past performance but Gowen refused as she believed this was only a fraction of what is rightly owed to her as she estimates the company to be worth over $US4 billion. She continued to work and promote Full Tilt Poker until being informed that they were going to issue a press statement detailing that she was no longer part of the team.

37-year old Gowen is still listed as a member of Team Full Tilt on Full Tilt's website and Full Tilt are yet to release a press statement regarding this issue.
