Hi! I just completed a lens about National Puppy Day on 23rd March and I hope you do not mind but I featured this lens on it because you have such valuable information about the ghastly puppy mills. This is a great lens and so necessary if we are going to raise awareness and get these monstrous puppy farms closed. Thank you.

Thank you for this post. I volunteer at a local shelter, and pretty much all the dogs there are from puppy mills or backyard breeders. It breaks my heart.

    Hi,
I wanted to let you know about a movie that is opening the Artivist Film Festival in NYC on Dec 9th-12th.. The dogs finally have a voice!

“Madonna of the Mills” is a documentary about Laura, an office manager from Staten Island, who stumbled on this secret four years ago and vowed to save as many of these breeding dogs as she possibly could. Laura has now rescued over 2,000 dogs from Amish and Mennonite farmers in Pennsylvania. In the process, she has forever changed her life and the lives of those families fortunate enough to adopt one of these remarkable “puppy mill” survivors.

    Here is the trailer:

Life with Dogs posted the trailer on Nov 2nd

Please post in your blog so that we can save as many lives as possible..

Puppy farms must be banned. Everyone innocent suffers- the puppies and often the people who buy the puppies. My heart also goes out to the breeding dogs and bitches especially who live that life everyday....

Puppy Farming is a money making operation that is all.

Thank you for making this lens and raising more awareness of this awful practice. Lensrolling to my animal lenses and promoting where I can.

Puppy mills should be a term that only exists in the past.

Blessed by a Squid Angel today!

Nice lense, I agree that puppy farm that has a bad or dirty environment should close. Puppies should have well care environment. I think they have many breeder that have a good place to puppies so you can buying puppies from them.

I own two rescued dogs, not because of puppy mills, but because owners were going to 'dispose' of them. I do, however, agree that puppy mills need squashed. There are enough loyal and loving dogs that need good packs to live in without entities catering to those who believe that dogs are disposable trends.

Always glad to see people getting the word out about puppy mills until everyone knows. Nicely done lens.

I think that the people who do such horrible things to other creatures should be made to suffer the same horrors as punishment. Maybe then they would think twice.

Unfortunately, the area that I live in is well known for puppy-mills. For some reason no one can regulate them. Very sad.

I dont like the RSPCA. someone next door has a dog she got there but i was horrified that when they rescue a dog they put it down within a week if it does not get re homed or claimed even if its healthy. the lady said that they were going to put down the dogs she got in a couple of hours it was a very heath dog then and still is. thats why i dont have like it. and i want to support dogs trust because they do not put a nice health dog down.

Thank you so much for bringing these issues to the publics attention. There are many, many well intentioned breeders in the World who test their dogs for hereditary diseases, agonize over pedigrees to ensure they are a good match and general care for their dogs and puppies.

Whenever I sell a puppy, I make sure all my new families have the required documentation and ensure that they know that I WILL take the pup if there are any issues - no questions asked. How many puppy mills give you that kind of written guarantee????
