Close up Magic for the Amateur Enthusiast

Magic is an art performed by people all over the world. Learning Magic is a great way to make friends, meet people, make money(sometimes), and so many other opportunities. Remember this is not a sorcery or game website. This is for aspiring illusionists wanting some tips. Magic is something that doesn't die out or go out of style. You can find the Cups and Balls routine far back in history and watch many magicians doing it today. It is timeless and fun.

Introduction

I am an amateur, having only done magic for about a year and a half, but I feel competent to write this lens. First, I must introduce myself and this lens. I am Jesse, 14 years old, and this lens will not reveal any magic at this point in time. It will talk about a couple of tricks I perform, a little history of magic, and links to get you started. There are other great lenses on Squidoo, but come back often, as I will be adding information.

Some Great Links!!!

These are some great Magic Links that I have tested and approved. You don't have to worry about anything on these sites.
The Magic Cafe
A great forum for magicians by magicians. There is something here for every illusionist. I go there often to read the words of wisdom from the great people there. Check it out!
Daytona Magic
This is personally the best magic shop in Florida and always has great quality stuff.
H & R Magic Books
I haven't used this much, but it is supposed to be a great online magic book store.

What I do

I do a variety of card tricks, trick deck card tricks, sponge ball tricks, and other close up tricks. A great book for anyone looking to begin magic is Mark Wilson's Complete Course in Magic. This book is a book magicians from all over use, and I refer back to it often. It has all kinds of tricks in it. Since my start in magic, I have performed in a talent show, for a special-needs home, at a fall festival, and other things.

Some More Great Links!

This is for any one to look for further information on magic. If you find this lens lacking, there are many other options to choose including these links. This should help you with close-up and other types of magic anyone is looking for. Be sure to check these links frequently, as there will be updates often.

Wow! What a great lens. I have only watched the first video so far, and it is amazing. The four aces never leave the top of the deck! Really neat. Thanks, Jesse!
