Clove Cigarettes

Clove cigarettes are manufactured in various brands, Black Label being the most common. The cigarette is made of a blend of tobacco, cloves, and a "seasoning."

Although, the cigarette is not solely nicotine, it can still provide a similar affect.

Smoking cloves is till just as addicting as smoking Newports or Kool cigarettes. And, just as unhealthy.

The smoke is very detrimental to one's lungs and body parts. Inhaling the cigarette, depletes many of the beneficial vitamins and minerals in your body.

Although, this is a much higher priced cigarette, it is still craved among certain smoking populations. But, luckily, as it can range from 4-7 dollars a pack, it becomes less wanted, as it is much higher priced.

The clove cigarette should be treated the same as a regular and menthol cigarette.

As Kretek cigarettes have an average of 10-12 mg of tar and 1 mg of nicotine, they are just as addictive as other conventional cigarettes. But, one must remember that the average levels of tar and nicotine depend on where the cigarettes where made; it appears that those manufactured in Canada have higher levels of both tar and nicotine versus those manufactured in Europe and South America.

Clove cigarettes can create a similar effect of the carbon monoxide and venous plasma nicotine as conventional cigarettes such as Malboro.

But, at the same time that the cigarette creates a similar feel of a "normal" cigarette, kretek cigarettes do not appear to show any worse health effects than other cigarettes.

So when choosing to smoke kretek cigarettes one must consider the health effects... Those similar to smoking conventional cigarettes.
