- Thank you for suggesting art calendars. Sometimes things are so simple and obvious; yet it takes someone else to put you in the right direction!

- Thanks! We are new to artist studies. However, we've found a couple of books at the library - Isms: Understanding Art (better for older students, IMO) and Name That Style: Understanding Isms in Art (better for younger students, IMO) that are great for presenting a general overview of the various artistic styles.

- I loved using her method of study while I was homeschooling my children. They enjoyed it too, because is was a "no Pressure" approach.

- I can see some value in what you are saying about the study of art, but I also feel it is extremely limiting to the imaginative value of a non prescribed method of seeing art. Let a child interpret as he or she will, let them acquire imagination and inspiration from all the beautiful art in the world. We don't all need to see things the same way, as an individuals interpretation and expression is the variety and spice of life.

- Very insightful thing you are doing, and I like your approach. So many times when children recognize realism they take it as the gold standard. They abandon their art because they feel they can't measure up. It is good that you are helping her through this by helping to developing the confidence of personal expression. I look forward to seeing what the future holds.

- Thank you so much for this information! i was homeschooled and attended a charlotte mason school, now, at university, i'm assisting a friend who is starting an art program for the kids from the "projects" in waco - a group of people highly underexposed to beauty. Many of these resources will be so helpful!

- Nice lens you got. It provides learning information for people who cannot go on their way learning arts in a classroom. This online way of learning is really a wonderful element in our world's new era. You can check out my article in Online Studies which tackles why online learning is a very convenient way of learning without going inside a four cornered classroom.
