How Banks Make Money
Have you ever wondered?
Why does the largest building in every city in America have a Bank's name atop of it? How do banks afford to have a beautiful branch office on every corner? Is there a way I can make back or keep a portion of that money?
If you are a normal American you have either asked these same questions or now are asking these questions.
Banks make a portion of their money on the "spread" or arbitrage between the interest rate they pay you for depositing your money and what interest rate they charge someone to relend your money. In some cases you relend your own money and are paying a premium to do it.
Let's use an example. Say you have a checking account which makes you 1% on an average daily balance. But you are paying 6% on your mortgage. There is a 5% "spread there in which the bank makes. Would you like to keep that?
Traditionally this would be impossible. With the new Home Ownership Accelerator it is very possible. CMG Financial has created a mortgage loan which allows you to deposit your income into the mortgage and eliminate the bank making the spread. Under a traditional mortgage you would not have access back to that money. With the Home Ownership Accelerator you have access back to that money. The account will charge you money on an average daily balance.
So the longer you keep your money in the account, the lower your average daily balance stays, the less interest you pay.
This concept was made popular in Australia by Macquarie Mortgage and in the UK by Richard Branson and Virgin with the One Account.

- It sounds like a good money saving feature, apply a little more to reduce interest payment, then take the money back when you need it. Traditionally when you make extra payments to principal, you cant get that money back if you need it. But it sounds like this will give you the option.
