Coaching Techniques: Empowering Personal Questions That Can Change Your Life Today!

Coaching Techniques like 'Empowering Questions' are very useful. As you read on, you'll discover simple Coaching Techniques that will enable you to be able to change your life rather quickly and easily. And Empowering Questions or simply 'Good Questions' are fundamental in this process of change and transformation...

Your mind is functioning all the time. It's always moving in a direction; Which could be useful or not so useful! The questions we ask ourselves have a very powerful effect on our 'trains of thought.' And, therefore, they have a strong influence on the outcomes we achieve in life.

What's That You Say?!

How Questions Can Cause 'Limitation Thinking'

Marco BellucciCan you guess how many questions a person asks themselves each and every day?! It's going to be a hell of a lot isn't it! Just think about all the little decisions and choices we make on a daily basis.

Many of those involve asking ourselves questions.

But, for whatever reason, often-times, we limit our options/choices/possibilities due to the questions we ask ourselves.

Questions cause our mind to go in a certain direction. When we learn to ask Empowering Questions, we gain a lot of control over our mind, which leads to greater happiness, success and peace of mind.

Your Unconscious Database

Salim PhotographyAll of our experiences are stored in our memory. We access these memory banks regularly throughout the day. Our memories define who we are and enable us to access resources and skills. Of course we can also access 'bad memories.'

The type of questions we ask ourself guide what sort of things we will pull from the 'database.'

The Curse of WHY? WHY? WHY?

A Common Mistake That Causes 'Neurotic Loops'

This is one of the most common mistakes people make within their own Internal Dialogue. Your Internal Dialogue is often yapping away in the background, without your conscious awareness. Some of it is very useful. Motivation for example.

But, as with many people, 'The Chatter Box,' asks the mind silly questions!

Maybe you recognise some of these examples:

"WHY am I so stupid?!"
"WHY does this ALWAYS happen to me?!"
"WHY can't I do this?!"
"WHY? WHY? WHY?"

So as you can see with the examples above, asking the 'Why? Question' accesses the minds logical reasoning mechanism. AND your amazing mind is very good at it!

Wouldn't it feel good to harness that talent in a positive empowering direction?

Get It Out of Your System!

A really useful way of becoming aware of your Internal Dialogue is to use a voice recorder.

Or write down the phrases you keep repeating to yourself.

The Power of WHY?

How To Use The 3 Letter Word Question In An Empowering Way

So, as was demonstrated with the negative examples above, the 'Why Question,' prompts the mind into searching it's 'database' for evidence that fits the question. What this means is you can simply ask the Why Question on a positive statement and this will bring forth the 'evidence' from your vast unconscious 'database.'

Examples:

"Why am I starting to feel so relaxed right now?"

"Why do I feel so good about myself in this moment?"

"Why do I find it easy to make more money?"

AND...

You might just find yourself enjoying this...

Another really useful 3 letter word is 'AND.'

'AND' is a connecting word. You can string two sentences or statements together and it keeps the flow and makes sense didn't it?

So any-time you become aware of your negative self-talk, simply say, "And...", then tag on an Empowering Question.

Here's some quick examples to clarify how it works:

"Gosh, I'm so useless!" ==> "AND... How can I feel content right now?"

"What's the point, I always fail!" ==> "AND... What other outcomes have I achieved?"

"She/He won't be interested in me" ==> "AND... How can I capture and lead their imagination?!"
