- I was in Cosat Rica with my family, and we decided to eat breakfast out on the porch; shortly after we were visited by a group of 4-5 Coati's. They act very much like nice racoons. They were looking for scraps being dropped from the table. We could have fed them by hand, but decided that woulds't be a great idea for amny reasons, but we did toss a few pieces of bread and they would come within iches of us to get them.

- I've never actually seen one of these animals in the wild, though I live near coati country and have spent a lot of time hiking and camping in those areas. The only ones I've seen were at the Desert Museum near Tucson, Arizona. A wonderful place.

- I was expecting to see a lens about an exotic food when I clicked on this link and was quite surprised to see what exactly a coatimundi really is. They look like busy little critters and pretty cute too!! :)

- I've only read about them, but would love to visit Costa Rica and see them and the fabulous hummingbirds. Welcome to the Naturally Native Squids group. Don't forget to add your lens link to the appropriate plexo and vote for it.

- Cool. I forgot about those funny little things. I lived in Panama for 3 years, and those creatures were a menace, but funny like little monkeys!

Coatimundi -- What Exactly is It?
I've had the distinct pleasure of walking amidst a couple dozen of Coatimundi on our trip to Costa Rica. We were driving a very rough, windy road on our way to Tabacón, the hot springs resort in the northern area...
