Cobb Homes are very energy frugal and sturdy.; Be sure to check local regulations and zoning before building.
Cobb homes have been used for thousands of years, I can't wait to build my first Cobb House, it will be small probably like a 15x15 foot just so I can learn the process correctly.; I will turn that into a storage shed after I build a larger Cobb House on the property.
Cobb houses can be made of mud and straw as I build some small scale models I will take pictures.; Not only are Cobb houses cheap to build they are also very energy efficient .; By combining energy saving and low initial cost your return on investment can be as low as 2-5 years. Your key investment in your Cobb House will be time and labor.
Update I met a local Farmer who might trade Bails of hay for vegetables and berries.; Looks like I will build my small scale Cobb House this spring.; Update way to much rain Cobb house is going up next year just a small 10x10 Cobb House but it will be fun, dry and will last for hundreds of years I plan on adding additions as I go with the main Cobb House being about 25x25.. You can also build Cobb Houses for storage, I will be building a Cobb House specifically designed to house my battery setup for alternative power..
To avoid zoning problems I will keep the storage Cobb buildings less then ten feet by ten feet. This is usually the largest size you can build without a permit make sure to check your local area before you build your Cobb House

- Happy April Fool's Day! Fascinating, but I am much too old to be doing that kind of manual labor. I have other alternative methods in mind for my next house. This is a great lens though with really useful information for someone 30 years my junior. I have Squid liked your lens and am leaving you with a Fool's Day Blessing (no April Fool's prank here). - i am going to zimbabwe to help work in an orphanage i have been supporting. To have my own accomodation i want to build my own cob house, are there any cob experts out there who would be interested in voluntarily coming to help me with my house??
