Another great way to get the health benefits of cacao beans is a new product called Choffy which is very minimally processed. It is 100% premium organic fair trade cacao beans that are roasted, ground and then brewed just like coffee (although there is no coffee in it!). There is no added sugar, dairy or chemicals of any kind, just cacao beans. One 8 oz serving contains only 20 calories with no fat and no sugar and only 3g of carbohydrates. To learn more, go to www.drinkchoffy.com/smcallister or contact me at smcallister222@gmail.com.

Great lens on cocoa. Since I love chocolate, knowing that I can lose weight and increase my mortality rate by eating them just makes my day. Thumbs up for your lens. :)

A recent "60 Minutes" article revealed the sad truth about the use of child slave labour to harvest the cocao bean... I won't stop eating chocolate, but we need to be aware of the pain created by this harvest.

UCSD.edu has a website called stopchocolateslavery/goodchocolateproducts that lists chocolates by name, so we can check specific companies by name and item to know if the cacao beans are handled by slaves. http://vision.ucsd.edu/~kbranson/stopchocolateslavery/goodchocolateproducts.html

Cacao nibs have to be one of nature’s most perfect superfoods. Not only are they chock full of antioxidants and mood lifting chemicals, but they also taste great, since they are the very raw material that chocolate is made from.
