Benefits of Cod Liver Oil
I don't know about you, but one of my early memories is of my Mom giving me a spoonful of Cod Liver Oil every day, insisting through my protests that it would make me grow up big and strong.
Well now science has proved it! As usual, Mom was right. Cod Liver Oil has now been proven to have many health benefits.
Codliver Oil - Why it's good for you
- Reduces Blood Pressure
- Strengthens Teeth and Bones
- Protects against Heart disease
- Helps Babies develop in the Womb (check with Dr before taking)
- Helps maintain good Eye Sight
- Encourages beautiful Skin
- Improves the pain of Arthritis
Cod Liver Oil is available everywhere, in capsules or liquid - and you needn't worry; these days it doesn't even taste "fishy"!
Fish oils contain Vitamin A, Vitamin D, and natural acids called EPA and DHA - Omega 3 Fatty Acids which are now being found to be beneficial for regulating hormones in the body and reducing the risk of Coronary Heart Disease, which causes to heart attacks.
Even if you eat fish regularly, it's a good idea to take a Cod Liver Oil capsule daily; you'll feel better for it.
benefits of omega 3
The Omega 3s in Cod Liver Oil can help to make mood swings due to Pre-Menstrual Syndrome a thing of the past, which is great news for all us ladies. I don't know about you, but I dread that once-a-month miserable "Black Cloud" that makes me want to argue with everything and everyone.
Many Crimes of Passion in the past have been attributed to PMS; I've been tempted to commit a few myself at the Wrong Time of the Month! Omega 3 fatty acids, when taken regularly have been proved to regulate hormone production, levelling out the surges that cause the dips in mood.
Fish Oil Side Effects
As with all supplements, care must be taken not to overdose. The philosophy of "more is better" is not the case here. For an adult, one-a-day capsules are perfect, preferably taken with food.
Always read the instructions. For children, there are many brands available in different flavours, which disguises the fishy taste that kids are so suspicious of. Pity these flavours did not exist when I was small - maybe I wouldn't have moaned and complained so much!
Just take it!
I'm a Personal Trainer; I teach my clients how to live more healthily with regards to their diet and exercise, and I always recommend they take Cod Liver Oil.
All the best,
Chris
