The Big Heat Coffee Scene

Glenn Ford and Gloria Grahame share a gruesome coffee movie moment.

The Big Heat Coffee Scene

We haven't seen The Big Heat, nor are we sure that coffee lovers around the world even want to. In this coffee movie scene, there is a horrible moment billed as "one of the most gruesome movie moments ever" when one character throws boiling coffee on his girlfriend's face. Apparently the attack is not shown, but the stove where the coffee pan rested is and the screams are heard as the coffee disfigures her face.

The Bucket List Coffee References

Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman share Kopi Luwak coffee with the world through this movie.

The Bucket List Coffee Scenes

This is a standout movie to me. Jack Nicholson's character enjoyed good things, including Kopi Luwak coffee. Morgan Freeman, who plays with Nicholson, refused to drink the coffee and later admits that he knows where it comes from...

When Harry Met Sally Coffee Scene

Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan share possibly the most infamous coffee shop scene of all.

The movie with quite possibly the most memorable coffee shop scene is When Harry Met Sally. I'm not quite sure how to describe it so I'll share the video of the famous moment instead:

When Harry Met Sally Coffee SceneAs it turns out, this famous coffee shop scene is an impromptu or unscripted movie moment. The two main characters were talking about men not recognizing when a woman was really having an orgasm and she proved her point by 'having' one right there. When she finished her demonstration, another customer in the shop said, "I'll have what she's having." The entire scene was unplanned and a memorable quote and movie scene was born.

You've Got Mail Coffee Speech

An excellent Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan romantic comedy in which Hanks makes a speech about Starbucks coffee.

You've Got Mail
In the Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan romantic comedy, Hanks gives a speech about the reason Starbucks is good for those who cannot make a decision. He says, "The whole purpose of places like Starbucks is for people with no decision-making ability whatsoever to make six decisions just to buy one cup of coffee. Short, tall, light, dark, caf, decaf, low-fat, non-fat, etc. So people who don't know what the hell they're doing or who on earth they are can, for only $2.95, get not just a cup of coffee but an absolutely defining sense of self: Tall. Decaf. Cappuccino."

That scene from Harry Met Sally is one of my favorites ever!! Great idea to feature coffee movies! This is fun!

I agree with Susan about the coffee scene in You've Got Mail. I don't know about movies but I have noticed lately in TV shows someone is always bringing Starbucks type coffee. Gibbs in NCIS comes to mind as just one example.

Since "You've Got Mail" is one of my favorite movies, I guess that's my favorite coffee scene. But the "When Harry Met Sally" scene, I have to agree, is the most unforgettable. Love this topic, Brenda!
