Caffeine is one of the ingredients in coffee. It is also a psychoactive drug. Researchers agree that regular caffeine use triggers a physical dependence, a mild form of addiction.

The simplest way to get rid of your coffee addiction is to gradually decrease the amount of coffee you consume. If you now drink four cups of coffee per day, try drinking three for a few days, then go down to two, finally to one before stopping altogether.
Another possibility is to replace some of your daily cups of coffee with tea. A cup of tea has less than half the caffeine a cup of coffee does. This means that by switching to tea you have halved your consumption of caffeine even if your cups per day remains the same.
