Welcome, Coffee Cravers!
This lens is devoted to the celebration of coffee. It's time to come out of the closet and declare your commitment to coffee to the world. Remember, God created the coffee bean. Teetotalers and decaf drinkers are welcome to crash the party as well, and you need not be ashamed of admitting your preference. I have been known to sip a chai latte or two from time to time myself, although my drink preference is a venti no whip mocha.
Share your experiences with or over coffee, your favorite coffee shops, and your favorite coffee recipes. I am particularly interested in promoting individually owned coffee shops and sole proprietors. I salute them in their quest to stand tall in a Starbucks world. There are few individually owned neighborhood shops in the Chicago area, so whenever I leave town, I am in search of the local spot.
Most of all, I want us to have fun. So coffee humor is encouraged as well. I only ask that all of our communications remain G-Rated. Thanks for stopping by. Let's make this the gathering place for all the coffee cravers in creation!

The Joy of Java
So why have I created this Squidoo lens? I guess I would just like to celebrate coffee, whatever form this celebration may take. You see, my beloved wife is a teetotaler, venturing into a chai latte every now and then, but totally eschewing my favorite beverage. She loves me and accepts me, even buying me an espresso machine recently, along with my favorite flavored syrups. But she does not imbibe in nor embrace the beautiful brew. She does get a kick out of hearing me place my order, however.
So I am hoping to create a little community, a friendly coffee cult, as it were, where we can celebrate and share our mutual passion. I would like us to share the unique coffee experiences and the places we have visited, the places where you have had the best mocha, caramel latte, Americano, or machiatto. You need not be a coffee officiando. I'm sure not. I'm just a drinker, and drinkers are welcome here, as well as those with deeper expertise who would like to share. If you own a coffee shop, or are a barista, you are especially welcome to join us and share your expertise and your whereabouts for those, like myself, who are always on the prowl for that secret coffee hideaway. Sole proprietors are struggling in this economy, and I would like to support them.
I'm not sure what more I am expecting at the moment, but I suspect the mission will evolve as we proceed. If you love coffee, you are in the right place. Viva la Java (Did I say that right?).

- Welcome to the Coffee Cravers. I'm glad you stopped by. Set and rest a spell, and then share your thoughts about all things coffee. I believe that the Bible is true, and the Bible states that we should rejoice and give God glory for all that God has created and provided for our enjoyment, and that includes the coffee bean. Make sure you bring your cup.
