Everyone needs a coffee table book, otherwise your friends will get bored while they are waiting for you.  Magazines are allright, so are nice big books of art but to really set yourself apart why not have a book that you personally edited (I totally put "edited by Amecus J.", in big Fancy text on mine).  It is a nice surprise for your guest, I have had nothing but compliments from mine.  And wasn't surprised at all when I found my friends' own coffee table book at their houses later.

This lens is about how you can do the same.

The Basics

This personalized coffee table book basically consists of 3 things.

1. A 3 ring binder that will hold a full sheet of notebook paper. I prefere one that allows me to insert my own cover. You can get as fancy or as simple as you like.

2. Plastic sheets that are used to hold baseball cards And/Or the 8.5x11in plastic sheet protectors used for business documents. (I use both)

3. Now comes the fun part. The contents. Fill the pages with artwork, quotes you like, and whatever else you want.

In the baseball card sheets I put ACEO's which are little artworks the same size of a baseball card. You can easily create a very nice collection. (more on this later). The occasional fortune cookie makes it in one of the slots and whatever interesting flat object I come across.

In the full size pages I put artwork of the same size and sometimes I print out a nice short story or poetry, whatever will fit on a page or two.

And Now For the Fun Stuff

9 of these cards will fill up a page

I have long believed that, as an adult, you are entirely responsible for creating a life that you want. This concept really became crystal clear to me... (more)
