List of Books & Movies Featured on "The Colbert Report" (2011)

Apparently, Stephen Colbert doesn't trust books. "They're all fact, no heart." But he happens to have a lot of authors on his show who have written books that I want to read. This is a book list from his shows in 2011.

You can also find the book list from Colbert's current season here and lists from earlier seasons are below. And don't forget to check out the list of books from the current season of The Daily Show.

Favourite Book from Summer 2011

More amazing guests and their books this quarter. I was really excited by Eagleman's Incognito. I don't think we really understand as much about our brains and our mental physiology and cognitive life that we should. This is a great introduction to getting started.

Favourite Book from Spring 2011

This was another great quarter for guests. Again, I had a really tough time choosing my fav book. But I think it has to be Caroline Kennedy's poetry anthology. In part, this was driven by the charming interview she gave with Stephen and the poetry reading they did together (link is to the video - will be available to folks in the US only).

Favourite Book from Winter 2011

There were some great books featured this quarter - I had a really tough time choosing my favourite. But I have a little bit of a crush on Jane McGonigal who wrote Reality is Broken so I chose hers. She is super-smart and interesting and has a fascinating take on how we could use game models to make the world a better place.
