Staying Warm Solutions For Your Hands, Feet, Nose And Anything Else!

Every day my feet are cold. . My husband walks around barefooted and in shorts while I'm wrapped up in blankets on the sofa. As a result, we are temperature incompatible.

Even In the summer, I feel the cold. it's not such a big deal because I can always head out into the sunshine to thaw a bit, soak up the warmth and vitamin D while reading a book. But inside, summer and winter, I've had to develop some adaptive techniques to keep from freezing to death.

Here are some ideas that might help you as well if you're the person always complaining about being cold. Develop your own toasty little world to stay warm no matter where you are in the house.

Get A Slanket!

The Slanket Blanket- Adult Blanket in Ruby Red

I was given a Slanket for my birthday by my dear husband. As my birthday is in July, I thought this rather strange at the time. However, it's probably the most used gift I've ever received! It keeps me warm for a start and having built in sleeves means I can still keep in that precious warm air while I use my hands & arms without the need to uncover them!

Health Warning!

If you feel cold frequently, you may have an underlying medical condition that needs investigating. Being cold, or having cold extremities often is a sign of poor circulation.

I get muscles cramps too. If I don't wear socks at night, I can almost guarantee cramps either in my feet or calves. My eldest daughter got so fed up with her fingers and toes feeling like ice and cramping, that she saw her doctor who diagnosed Reynauds disease. '

Wear gloves, extra socks and even scarves when you're indoors if you need them and don't be afraid of getting too cold. Have a warming drink or maybe soup

I heat it in the microwave before using and as it contains wheat, it soon warms. I have read reports of these burning but I make sure I follow the manufacturers instructions and nothing untoward has ever happened. I'm planning on getting these socks and then I can get head to toe warmth!

As I already mentioned, I rely on socks to keep my tootsies toast warm but I also wear slippers while I'm indoors. These occasionally get replaced by flip flops when the temperature soars but on the whole I'm usually in a nice comfy pair of slippers. I always make sure to buy washable ones and there are so many pretty, yet practical designs to choose from.

How Do Others Stay Warm?

Many people across the world live in much colder climates than I do. So how on earth do they stay warm?

Fur coats and items of clothing are one way. Whilst not popular with many people, animal skins were the only way to stay warm at one time. In parts of the world they are still used today. They help to insulate the body and retain the heat. Personally I think they look better on the animals they come from but I don't live in an adverse climate, do I?

Snowmen of course always wear scarves, hats and gloves to stay warm!

I have terrible Reynaulds syndrome and this lens has some brilliant items! I think I'll be saving my pennies and shall return to buy that wonderful looking slanket. I can't wear socks or slippers, they make my feet sweat and thus even colder than before - often blue! Blankets and gloves are my saving grace, so really, thank you.

I find that my best solution is an electric blanket. There are people who say those things will burst into flames and kill you, but I've had one for years and encountered no problems. It helps if you don't jump on the bed, of course. An electric blanket is perhaps the best solution for those who, like me, sometimes can't feel their legs in the morning. Also, porridge. Wonderful stuff.

The wheat buddy items are brilliant (and don't forget hot water bottles!). I didn't know they are now availble as SOCKS, however! That's amazing. I may have to try them. I'm desperate to find something that works for my feet!

    Great lens. :)

I also suffer from Raynauds syndrome but it is funny because the rare illness I suffer from also causes me to have fevers so I alternate between roasting hot and freezing cold. I wear gloves to retrieve food from the freezer and am never without slippers or toasty wool socks on my feet. Wishing you and yours a wonderful and peace filled holiday season. The very best of seasonal blessings.

If you have problems with peripheral circulation you can try gingko biloba extract. It works so well sometimes I need to stop taking it because I'm not used to having warm feet all the time.

Hot Water Bottle!

A hot water bottle can be cuddled for hours before it loses it's heat. I like the ones that come with the fleecy linings. But make sure to be careful when filling it and don't use boiling water!
