#1 The fridge
Tried and tested

For most people the humble fridge is the simplest way to keep beer cold.
I do recommend a dedicated beer fridge, set at a slightly colder temperature than your regular fridge to keep your beer icy cool. Reducing the temperature control on your regular fridge increases the risk of slightly freezing food, upsetting your partner and increasing the risk of missing out on beer entirely.
Make sure you're an environmentally conscious beer drinker by only having the beer fridge switched on when you're going to be drinking, we want future generations to be able to enjoy beer too!
#2 Bathtub filled with ice
Essential for parties.

This works particularly well for parties where your fridge is used for trivial items like food and can't store large amounts of beer.
The beer stays very cold! Beware when plunging your hand deep into the tub to retrieve a beer, doing this a few times can increase hand numbness (or was that from the beer?).
In hot climates you might need to refill with ice at some point.
# 3 Beer on wheels
A mobile party
Look at these Aussie guys. 10/10 for lateral thinking. They've filled the tray of their ute with ice and beer.
It could be a disaster if they drive around like that, cold, fizzy beer....
#4 Snow beer
Mother nature loves a cold beer
If you live in a region with decent snowfall, this one could be for you.Just stick your beer outside in the snow!
Good for the environment and good for you (sort of).
#5 portable cooler
Essential picnic item
The portable cooler (or esky as us Aussies call it) has been around forever.Fill it with ice and head to your favourite picnic spot.
An esky full of ice can be heavy!
For extra laughs make sure you empty the melted ice over a friend at the end of the day.
#6 The beer barge
Summer fun
Imagine this, a hot summer day spent in your swimming pool. The urge for a beer hits you but you couldn't be bothered leaving the relaxing cool water.
Here's your answer, the beer barge!
And before you ask, she doesn't come with it.
#7 Beerpod
Music and beer
A variation on the cooler concept, keep your beer cool and listen to your pirated MP3s. #8 Jet engine cooler
Because even Top Guns enjoy a beer
I don't think too many people have tried this one...Beer cooled by a jet engine?

#9 The beer cruiser
Cool cruising
Lots of cool beer can be heavy.Make it easier with the beer cruiser.
A good one for the golfers.
#10 Greenland Beer
It doesn't get much colder than this
Apparently Greenland's Glaciers are mineral free, making it perfect for brewing beer with.
Now that's a cold beer!
#11 Beer Coolers Made from Household Items
Got a spare Sunday afternoon?
#12 the self chilling beer can
Long live nerds
I saw an interview with the guy who invented it. Personally I think I'm more likely to see Osama Bin Laden than the inventor at my local sinking a few quiet ones.
#13 The Cooper Cooler
Hot beer to heaven in 60 seconds
A friend of mine has a Cooper Cooler and they're genuinely very good and will cool a can of beer in just minutes.

They have them on sale over at Amazon.
You can also read a good review of the Cooper Cooler and my Cooper Cooler Rapid Beverage Cooler lens.
Stick a can in, watch it spin and you'll be kicking back with a coldie in no time.
#14 The Stubbyglove
No more frostbite
A couple of Aussie guys created the perfect solution, the stubbyglove.
They thought the idea was so great they applied for a patent.
See the story here:

#15 Getting back to nature
Let Mother nature do the hard work for you
If you're camping near a cool river or lake, you could try putting your beer in a plastic bag and submerging it in the lake or river to keep cool.
Obviously this will depend upon the water temperature and the number of thieves in the vicinity of the waterway, but might be worth a try.
#16 The Kegerator
Fridges are great. Kegs are great. Combining both in just one single unit is genius! It's the perfect way to impress your buddies, co-workers, boss or in-laws.There are plenty of commercial models around, or if you're the handy type, you could have a bash at the model that the fellas over at Micromatic have designed:

If you're like me and clueless when it comes to building stuff, you can pick one up on Amazon (see links below).
#17 The Humble Beer Cozy
For decades, men from around the world have used the humble beer cozy to keep their drinks cold at BBQs, parties and even some weddings.Part of the fun of having a beer cozy (apart from the obvious one of keeping your beer cold) is to out-do your buddies with garish designs, of which their are thousands.
Check out this 'knee-slapper' of a beer cozy.
#18 The Beerberg
Thanks to a reader's comment I came across the Beerberg. What exactly is the Beerberg?
The Beerberg is a bucket containing a big chunk of ice with a hole in the middle for your bottle of beer or can.
The manufacturer claims that it'll keep a beer cold for six hours. Nice.
Check it out: on Amazon:
Beerberg Ice Hole Cooler (for 16oz cans)
#19 Vacu Vin Rapid Ice Beer Chiller
The Vacu Vin Rapid Ice Beer Chiller is a bit like a beer cozy on steroids. It's a sleeve that slips around your beer which contains an unnamed but apparently hi-tech substance which keeps your beer cold after you've put it in the freezer.
They also come in a variety of prints, resembling beer.
They're a total steal on Amazon.
#20 The Beer Trench
I haven't tried this but have been assured it works.Firstly, fill a garbage bag with your beer and as much ice as possible.
Then, dig a hole in the ground, the deeper the better. It also works best when the hole is in the shade of a tree.
Then, throw your bag of beer and ice in and cover in dirt.
Apparently being underground keeps it cool and the cover of dirt stops air circulating around that could potentially warm your beer.
#21 The RC Cooler
The lazy way to keep your beer cold
The RC Cooler is one of those brilliant applications of a pre-existing technology that you wished you'd thought of yourself.Imagine a radio controlled car with a bucket of ice on top. Genius.
It keeps your beer cold and keeps your energy levels intact.
The commercials are good for a giggle too.
They're priced fairly decently ($49.95) on Amazon.
#22 The Fridge Beer Chiller
These clever little beer chillers have a gel insert which is surrounded by plastic which works feverishly (pardon the pun) to maintain a steady temperature inside the cooler. In short they keep your beer colder for longer.
They're a 2.0 beer cozy!
As well as keeping your beer temperature low, they'll keep your credit card bill low. They're just $5.98 and get some fantastic reviews on Amazon.
#23 The Thermos Can Insulator
Ever wanted your can to look like it came back in time with the T101?The Thermos 2700 12 oz Beverage Can Insulator looks pretty cool and will, by all reports keep your beer cool too.
76 people on Amazon scored the robotic looking can cooler a five ot of five, while the ultra-difficult to please Mario from Chicago was alone in scoring it a 2.
#24 The cheap Coke mini fridge
I came across this one entirely by accident.Got a hankering for something a little on the kitsch side?
Why not pick up one of these cheap Coke mini fridges from those crazy cats at Koolatron?
This cheap mini fridge is small enough to fit under your desk at work and keep those refreshments cool with no fuss.
A friend also set up this website dedicated to cheap mini fridge reviews.

- I hope you don't drink ale cold ! Mild and bitter should be at cellar temperature, ie 10C. I used to run a pub and my customers would have gone elsewhere if I'd served up cold bitter ! Lager yes, but not ales. Same with red wine - room temperature. Open the wine and stand it over the cooker whilst you are cooking, and you will love the flavour !

- I use those ice-cube freezer bags - do a few at a time then just wrap them round glasses/bottles etc preferably inside abucket/container which keeps the ice-cube bag in close contact. They last for a good long while - longer than it takes to finish your drink anyway! Then you can just re-freeze them for the next time
