Cold War Kids

Jonnie Russell, Nathan Willett, Matt Aveiro, and Matt Maust started their indie band, Cold War Kids, in 2004 in Fullerton, California. They began with recording demos in Los Angeles, and, in the spring of 2005, they signed with Monarchy Music and released their first album, Mulberry Street EP. They soon generated quite a buzz--thanks to curious bloggers and the unusually good artwork of member Matt Maust. In 2006, they spent most of their time on tour with Tapes 'n Tapes, Figurines, Sound Team, and Editors, and showing up at Lollapalooza. That summer, they signed with Downtown Records (home to Gnarls Barkley and Art Brut, among others), and released their first full-length album, robbers & cowards, that fall. They are now on tour throughout the US and Canada and are scheduled to play the Bonnaroo Festival in Manchester, Tennessee, this June.
