Colin Firth.....
The First time I saw Colin Firth was in the A&E production of Pride & Prejudice. He was wonderful as the proud, arrogant Fitzwilliam Darcy. I have since enjoyed him in What A Girl Wants, Bridget Jones, Then She Found Me and Mamma Mia. Although not all these movies were the best, Colin certainly was! I am looking forward to his forthcoming movies, and hope that they release The Accidental Husband in the US because for some reason, it never came out here.

Colin Firth Biography

A Look at Mr. Darcy
Colin Andrew Firth was born in Grayshott England in 1960 to college professors. At the age of 14, after having traveled around a bit with his family, Colin decided he wanted to be an actor. He decided against college and at 18 he went to London, where he joined the National Youth Theatre. He joined the London Drama Center, where he worked hard and studied for three years, winning major roles there. The Center's principal told Firth that he had what it took to become a special actor, even with his "matinee" good looks.
His portrayal of Hamlet led to the lead role in Another Country (where he replaced Daniel Day Lewis and Rupert Everett, originally slated for the role). He then starred in the television production of Camille, and The Doctor's Dilemma in the theatre.
Colin oftened turned down Hollywood roles, but kept on acting this time in Comedy Theatre. Firth later starred in the film Valmont where he met actress Meg Till, with whom he has a son, William. He and Tilly spent a lot of time away from the acting world, and he found he had lost the momentum he had gained while working.
Firth ended up doing some television movies including Master of the Moor and The Deep Blue Sea, and Circle of Friends. Not wishing to do the usual type of role Colin Firth turned down the role of Fitzwilliam Darcy for A & E's Pride and Prejudice several times, before conceding to do it, in 1995. Because of his great success as Darcy, Firth took the opportunity to further his "mainstream" career by playing in the BBC production of The Widowing of Mrs.Holroyd. In 1996, he starred in the English Patient the Oscar winning war movie.
Firth then starred in the television movie Nostromo where he met his future wife, Italian documentary film producer, Livia Guiggioli. (They married in 1997 and have two sons. Firth divides his time between Rome with his family and Los Angeles where he sees his son Will.)
Firth's movie career picked up with Shakespeare in Love in 1998, Bridget Jones' Diary in 2001,The Importance of Being Ernest in 2002, Love Actually in 2003, the Bridget Jones sequel in 2004, Nanny McPhee in 2005, Then She Found Me in 2007 and Mamma Mia in 2008.
Firth also continued to work in theatre and presently has Dorian Gray and David Copperfield in the works.

Colin Firth and Jessica Biel- Easy Virtue

Colin Firth's latest movie also stars Jessica Biel ( The Illusionist). Based on a 1928 script, Easy Virtue stars Biel, as a widow who turns a British family up-side down when she marries into it. Firth plays the family patriarch who doesn't see Biels as the gold-digger the rest of the family assumes her to be. The fact that Biels character Larita is an American and a race car driver, really drives her new family crazy. Firth's character is brooding ( sound familiar) and dark and almost suicidal, the type of role that Firth appears to enjoy playing.
