Collecting Blank Cassette Tapes

On the hunt for vintage audio finds, I often bring home the small and indispensible cassette tape
I always get a bit excited when I find a rare cassette tape.
And it's just amazing when my husband makes a tape and it sounds like it could be a CD.
Long live the cassette.
An amazing number of people trade cassettes on Ebay.. some individual cassettes fetch $20 and more a piece. Many of them aren't being produced anymore.
I expect that they will become harder to find, so now is certainly the time to bid on the ones you want. Everyone has their favorite tape. I'd love to hear what your favorite is... let me know in the guestbook.

- I had no idea cassettes were worth anything any more. I have a large collection too, mostly ones that I recorded, but only a couple of unused ones.

- Wow ... I have a huge collection of cassettes, but I didn't realize that blank ones were so hard to find. I'll have to start paying more attention. We have a collection of media players for vinyl, reel to reel tape, 8 track tape, and cassettes as well as the newer CD, DVD, and mp3 players. My best find recently was a collection of spiritual and self-help tape sets that were complete and cheap. Very interesting lens topic.
