Music Collecting (not just owning a few CDs)

We noticed one day while looking at the music racks that "our" kind of music was hard to find. You know, the "classics", The Stones, Janis Joplin, The Doors, etc. We also noticed that there where others missing too...Do wop, blues, classical, jazz etc...Oh yeah, you could find some mixes..."Greatest Hits of the 50s"..etc but the "originals" where all but absent. That's when we decided to "collect music", not just a style or two but all kinds, Blues, Jazz, Classic Rock, Classical, Celtic, New Age, you name it! We firgured if we where having trouble finding Johnny Cash and the Tennessee Two or Rufus with Chaka Khan, then our grandbabies would probably never get to hear them! This is our way of preserving a little history for them.

We started with the CD's we have, loading them into the computer. Then the cassettes and eventually the LPs. We discovered the sound was so much fuller and richer from a GOOD LP!! Well this collection has grown and my house hasn't! So that's why I have started selling them on Bonanzle.com!

Stop and think about it. LPs offer a lifetime of music. Music that your children and Grandchildren may never hear. When was the last time you heard Poco's "Bad Weather" or Richard Harris' "MacArthur Park" or Rufus "Tell Me Something Good"?? Why not start a collection of your own?? Records are becoming a prized collectors item and players are now more readily available.

This is one of my favs!! The Screaming Abdabs are none other than PINK FLOYD and this is a rare live bootleg copy of THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON! I had it on eBay...but eBay pulled the listing and I am not sure how to move this one!

SOCIAL SEURITY PRESENTS - CAROL CHANNING/MUSIC YOU CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT
A wonderful 7 record set of a radio show presented to inform about the Social Security when it was first introduced. Features Carol Channing along with Peggy Lee, Marlene Dietrich, Cab Calloway, Tony Bennett and many many more. The most unusual thing about this set is the last record is only recorded on one side.

Another Radio show by the US Army Reserve. This one has Johnny Mathis, Donna Fargo and Frank Sinatra Jr. Comes with instructions on how to play for different lengths of shows.
