Advice on The Big Move - Don't Miss Anything with this Guide!

Moving into college or a new apartment soon? I recently moved my daughter into her first apartment at college and I found some great deals along the way. I love sharing good deals with people, so this is a page that includes all the amazing things I've found at great prices!

Just because it seems like the big move is over, don't think too fast. There is bound to be something that you guys have forgotten. Have your college student make a list of things that he or she finds that they need throughout the first few months. When they come home, get the items that they need for them! This is one of the things that my daughter has done and now she has everything she needs down at school!

School is about to be out and moving out of that apartment is just as hard as moving in. Some of the tips that I have found helpful are as follows:

-Keep organized! If you don't you will never find that special photo you had hanging or even more importantly, your silverware!
-Don't be overwhelmed. Take it one room at a time.
-Do cover everything in transit. Some loose items have the chance of falling out of its box

The Actual Move!

It seems like moving should be easy enough, but actually it can be a pain. There are a lot of things that you have to remember when moving and something is bound to be forgotten. For this reason, have a spot that your child can start stacking their stuff a couple of weeks before the move. It will be much easier for them to remember everything if they have a chance to think about it before a couple days ahead of time.

Think about the cars or moving truck that you are going to take. For those of you who are moving your child half way across the country, this is especially important for you! If you forget something, that would not be a good thing! And scrambling for another vehicle and someone to drive it at the last minute is never fun.

Think of all of the furniture that you will need in your apartment or dorm. Most people forget to buy the little things like a coffee table or a futon. These things can be very useful when helping your child to feel like they're at home!

You want to make sure that your child has enough storage space. Thsoe dorm rooms can be miserably small and without enough room, they will just be crowded. Take some under-the-bed storage containers so that you can utilize all the space that you have!

Below are some of the things that helped when I was moving my daughter down to school and I would recommend not making the move without them!

TRASH CANS

It's amazing tha twe could forget something that is so common in our everyday lives, but we did. Trash cans is something that we forgot and really regretted forgetting! We were wiping everything down with the paper towels and pledge wipes that we had taken down with us, but when we went to throw out the used papertowels, we had no where to put them. We found ourselves walking all the way down the hallway in order to throw a paper towel away. Needless to say, we have now bought three trashcans: one for each bathroom and one large one for the kitchen. This is a must and you will quickly realize that if you forget it!
