Gold Canyon Candles

This is a lens about Gold Canyon Candle, all its wonderful products, its job opportunities and me! First of all, a little about the company: It was started in 1997 by Karen and Curt Waisath in their kitchen. She was tired of candles that tunneled, leaving unused, waisted wax around the jar and didn't throw out a fragrance. She was determined to find the right formula for the perfect candle. Karen not only created the candle she was seeking through her passionate intuition and innovation, she also found a way to have a career that would allow her to be at home with her children. And from that was born the home-based business plan. Now, thousands of women (and some men) are working from home enjoying their children and the freedom that only working from home can give.



Now, a little about the products: The candles are made from a foodgrade Parifin wax as well as natural vegetable wax, so if your all natural or just started going green then Gold Canyon is the way to go. The basic candles come in four sizes, 5, 8,16 and 26 oz's. All candles 8 oz's and larger are double wicked for a flatter burn, no tunneling which means no waisted wax, you get what you pay for! Gold Canyon promotes the use of environmentally safe wicks in all the candles it produces. They use both zinc core and cotton wicks that are made in the USA with a safety collar that extinguish automatically at the appropriate level which leaves about a quarter inch of wax in the jar. Gold Canyon adds this extra wax before pouring in the measured oz's for the jar, for example a 26 oz jar is actually 27 oz's so that your not losing value on your purchase. Having the safety collar keeps the wick from burning all the way down to the bottom, heating up the jar and causing it to explode. The fragrances are make of both natural and synthetic oils. Gold Canyon uses only the highest quality blend of both these oils in creating the finest candle. The oils are mixed with the wax before pouring so that is is consistant thoughout the entire candle. What does this mean? It means that your candle will smell just as stong at the bottom as it did the first time you lit it! Haven't you had candles that lost their scent after a few burns? You wont find that with Gold Canyon. There is a large variety to choose from and several different styles including 51 scents in the Heritage line, 15 scents in the Bella line, 9 scents in the Aroma Gold line, 20 scents for the tealights and votives, 6 scents in 3 different sizes in the pillars, 7 scents in the Comforts of home line, 8 scents in the Inspirations and 7 scents in the baking line. Plus Caffe Velluto candles in coffee mugs and the Soda Shoppe Shoppe candles in the reusable drinking glasses. All this along with the large selection of candle holders, candle care items, book marks, sachets, pod warmers and pods, room sprays and car fresheners. Theres something for everyone even if you dont care for candles!



We also have a body care line unlike any other called Emerge. These products include the Start Fresh Hand Soap formulated with aloe and mild cleansing agents to gently clean hands while glycerin provides a conditioning softness to create a renewing experience with each hand wash. The Stepping Out Footcream is the ultimate in foot care with its deodorizing creme formulated with conditioning glycerin, renewing essential peppermint oils and alpha hydroxy acid to keep feet smooth, soft and feeling their best. If you like the Satin Hands set from Mary Kay, you'll love the Grains of Truth Hand Scrub and the Raise you Hand Silk. The scrub is sea salt based enriched with living ionic minerals, vitamins A, D and E, avocado and sweet almond oils. The hand silk is best used after the scrub but not mandatory. The special healing nutrients include green tea extract, vitamins A, C, D, E and living ionic minerals. Use the body lather and polish in the shower for a invigorating experience with its aloe, chamomile and green tea extracts. The bath soak and body mist are a must for those days when you need a little pampering. The body lotion and cream help you feel comfortable in your own skin.



A clean home doesn't have to involve harsh chemicals, even harsher aromas and a cloud of chemicals compounds in the air. The Homeology home cleaners are the newest addition to our large product line. We also have our own Charity Foundation called the Prayer Child Foundation. A portion of every candle sale goes into this charity. 100% of the procedes from the Candles For Kids line goes to help children in need. Fundraisers are available for helping your organization raise the money for your cause.



About me? Well I started with Gold Canyon several years ago not as a business but as a means to support my candle habbit so that I could get them at cost. I was working a full time job, part time job and had 3 children. I simply didn't have the time to put into a business. My children were in daycare and my son seemed to stay sick all the time not to mention the bad habbits they were picking up from the other children. It was very difficult to get everything done in a day. I picked the kids up at 6 and had to cram homework, dinner (preparing and eating) and bath all in before their bed time at 8. After they went to bed I was doing laundry, dishes and light house work. Needless to say my house was far from clean! My daughter is ADHAD and daycare would not make the children do their homework, by the time I picked her up at 6, her medication had worn off and it was nearly impossible to get her to do it. As a result, she was held back in the first grade. Add to this the fourth child that we had and the increase of daycare really made me think about finding a way to stay home. Then it hit me, I've been sitting on a business opportunity that I had never cashed in on. So, I started booking parties and doing catalog parties. I didnt really focus on recruiting at first but now I'm activly looking to build my team. We have a wonderful company with down to Earth owners that really care. Its a company that you can get passionate about, if not for the excelent, above the bar products, then for the amount of children Gold Canyon helps every year. I'm always available for questions.
