Colloidal Silver Uses

Okay, first a disclaimer: I am not a vet nor do I pretend to be one on Squidoo. I am merely a long-time dog breeder who got straight A's in my medical classes when taking nursing courses. Coupling my passion for animals and my love of researching all things medical and nutritional, I found colloidal silver when faced with the dreaded parvo virus that threatened to wipe out not one, but two litters of puppies - 17 in total.

For those 'in the know', most vets charge in the vicinity of $2,000 to treat ONE puppy. No matter the love I had for these puppies, I did not have the kind of money laying around to have my vet take them all in. No offense to veterinarians out there but even by my own dear vet's admission, they only treat parvo puppies with an anti-diarrhea medication, an anti-nausea medication and saline in the IV for dehydration. All valuable but none that treat the actual virus itself. It is all supportive care. And that supportive care ends when the vet and staff go home at night if you do not have a 24 hr vet facility. Colloidal silver is a viricide. It KILLS parvo! Again, the FDA does not allow claims to be made by colloidal silver manufacturers so that is simply my 'Joe Blow' belief. But I happen to be a Joe Blow who saved all but one (the first one died before diagnosis and treatment) of these puppies. How many people do you know that couldn't even save ONE let alone SIXTEEN puppies? I also went on to share my methods with hundreds, if not thousands, of other people struggling to save their puppies from parvo. Sadly, that online article left the online world when the website ehow.com removed it for unknown reasons though it was personally discussed face to face with the 'powers that be' at ehow during a writer's conference I was invited to. But first -- make sure you have a proper vet's diagnosis of parvo virus. I will NOT advise you until this has been done. Please know other life threatening illnesses present similar symptoms and the treatment is very different. Vet advice before mine, folks!!

I also saved Buford, a black and tan coonhound I purchased from out of state. He came to me with full-blown parvo virus. He's now a very healthy, happy adult. He was literally on deaths door when he was delivered to me. His photo and a link to his heart-wrenching story are below.

I have been using colloidal silver for our family and our pets for many years. It all started when I had a puppy diagnosed with parvo and was researching things I could do at home that may kill viruses. There are NO medications that are labeled for puppies/dogs that can actually kill the parvo, only treat the symptoms. COLLOIDAL SILVER WORKED! See the full story near the bottom of this page.

Other things I later discovered colloidal silver worked to cure in my personal life have been:

Colds -- I take it at the very first sign of a cold coming on (sore throat for me) and I've NEVER gotten a cold past the first symptom since. Just one teaspoon per day.

Diaper Rash - I treated my granddaughter's diaper rash with colloidal silver directly to the rash for two days and it was virtually gone.

Mouth Abscesses - I have bad teeth. This meant a lot of pain for me in the way of abscesses which also meant I had horrid bad breath. A tsp. of colloidal silver once every 2 weeks did the trick until my teeth were pulled.

Un-diagnosed stomach ailment - My 22-year-old son had a horrible stomach ache that wound him up in the emergency room. He broke out in hives and had a swollen tongue and eyes. He had an allergy to something. They treated with Benedryl in the IV and a steroids. That fixed the allergy but left the horrible stomach pain. We declined the expensive prescriptions and I gave him colloidal silver instead. One tablespoon and it was gone.

Yeast infection - A tablespoon orally and some topically and it was gone the next day.

Urinary tract infection - I was always prone to UTI's ever since I had children for some reason. I took a tsp. of colloidal silver per day and it cleared up within a couple days. I've never had one since!

Basically, anytime I don't feel good I take some colloidal silver and it's always worked - bacteria or virus. My husband, my adult kids and even my Mom take it every time they don't feel good. But... I also use it for my pets, of which we have a wide variety.

Dogs:
- Parvo
- Eye Infection
- Hot Spots
- Dirty Teeth - this was by accident when applying it as an eye drop to the eyes and orally for a dog my mom took in who had dry eye and curly coat syndrome and an appointment with the vet for a teeth cleaning. In the two weeks of giving the colloidal silver prior to her vet appointment her teeth were clean enough she didn't need the $150 teeth cleaning.

Cats:
- Eye Infection due to another cat scratching him which turned into an ulcer and three expensive vet visits for eye ointment. I went to the colloidal silver instead and it cleared up and prevented the recommended surgery.
- As eye drops and orally for a feral cat who was attacked by some unknown wild animal and had his eye sunken in and serious wounds all over his face that were infected. Colloidal silver had him ready for re-release within three days when it first appeared he could actually die. My son couldn't afford the vet and it was the middle of the night when the cat was discovered anyhow so I did the best I could with the colloidal silver.
-For cats with colds. Cats and kittens who have colds could die from their illness. It is not as forgiving as it is in humans. To just let a cat cold have 'time to pass' could very likely mean your cat or kitten could die. Colloidal silver is stronger than any antibiotic that your vet will prescribe, in my humble opinion, and it costs a lot less, too.

Horses:
- I have a mare who came to me with a cottage cheese looking infection in both her ears that was very painful to her. She would not allow anyone to touch her ears and a couple different vets were at a total loss as to what it was or what would rid her of it. Spraying it with colloidal silver cleared it up.
