The Messages, Meaning and Symbolism of the Colours of India
I am fascinated by the meaning and symbolism of colours around the world but few places have as rich a history of hues as India
Two years ago I visited this incredible land for the first time and was taken with the India culture and their love of rich, bright colors. I wrote a series of articles about the colours of this country and this lens is a glimpse into what I learned. Enjoy!

A Country of Symbolic Colours
The colors of India have mesmerized rulers, outsiders, and visitors - perhaps more so because of the stories and legends that bind its people, its culture, and its beliefs. The "rani" pink of mystical Rajasthan, the pastel hues of southern India, the joyous, bright hues of the northern frontier, and the balmy bright colors of the east offer a kaleidoscopic insight into an almost perfect blend of history and modernism.
'A Country of Symbolic Colors' tells about stories and legends that through history have added rich symbolism to the colours of India.

While castes, beliefs and rituals may differ across religious sects in India, the overall implications of the color are universal

- Colors in India for the deepest meaning look to spiritual heritage of Hindus, Buddhists and other "ethnic voices". Great topic. Being an India, "spiritual colors" have deepest currents for my family origins in India.
