An Extra Large Tent Providing Plenty of Camping Room for Your Family

One of the most challenging things about camping, is squeezing your family into an itty-bitty tent. Even with just a few people, by the time you cram sleeping bags, air mattresses, clothing, and miscellaneous supplies, it can be hard to find room for the people.

The Columbia Cougar Flats II solves this problem beautifully: it has tons of space in it, and is so large that a tall person can stand up straight in it.

No more stooping or tripping over everything and everyone when inside. Instead, you can spread out, relax in comfort, and enjoy the great outdoors, without dreading being inside your tent!

Columbia Cougar Flats II Product Features

What makes it such a great tent?

There are a number of things to like about the Columbia Cougar Flats II. The 10 ft. by 15 ft. size allows for a lot of space. With two rooms you have different possibilities for how to arrange the space inside: parents on one side, kids on the other, or maybe have everyone sleep on one side and use the other for a "living" area. There is so much space, it actually can sleep up to 8 people.

Another really nice feature are a variety of ways to stay organized while camping: pockets, cupholders, and even a loft to store additional camping gear.

Anyone who has spent any time camping knows how important it is to be able to be comfortable no matter what the weather is. The Columbia Cougar Flats II uses a rain protection system to keep everyone dry, as well as a special air circulation system that helps keep the tent cool when it's hot, and warm when it's cold.

And when your camping vacation is over, the tent collapses quickly into a wheeled storage bag, making it easy to get it packed away without much difficulty at all.

I read all the reviews and paid attention to the comments on this tent. We planned a camping trip on Cape Cod during Hurricane Bill, the campground was well tree'd for cover but had a slightly hilly landscape. After staking the Cougar Flats tent well and securing the rain fly we outlasted a night of heavy rain without one drop of water in the tent. I was sure to have a tarp under the tent that just fit the floor of the tent but not exceeding the dimension to keep moisture out. I got many positive comments on the tent, especially the height and roominess with the big windows. I also gave two tours of the inside as other campers were amazed at how large it seemed. I did read reviews about the set up and poles but did not have any problems after the initial setup (that I recommend you do ahead of time to familiarize yourself with the tent). I highly recommend this tent for anyone who values room, comfort and protection.

I've had this tent for about 6 months now and used it three times. The last trip I took was the first time we got heavy rain and the tent held up great. It poured on us all night and not a drop in the tent! There was not much wind as we had a good wind block where we camp but I was pleasently surprised by how well the rain flap protected.

The tent is great, it has two rooms so a buddy can stay on one side or if I'm alone in it, I put all my gear on that side and sleep in the other. A queen size air mattress can fit on either side plus room for gear no problem. It is easy to put up from a technical standpoint but it is a job as the tent is big. I've done it alone a few times but it's much easier with someone to lend you a hand. The rolling case it comes in even expands so you can actually get the thing back in it's case without much trouble, outstanding feature in my book.

All in all, I would definitely recommend this tent.

This tent was awesome. We took our kids camping, and put a queen sized inflatable mattress on one side and a portable crib and twin mattress on the other side. Both sides had more than enough room to store our stuff, and the side with our kids could have easily fit another mattress or two. My husband set it up in the dark (we downloaded the instructions that another reviewer posted), and it took about 15 minutes with 2 other guys. I love how tall it is-you could easily stand full length in it even if you were really tall-the ceiling is probably 7'. The rain cover was nice because you can stake it out to block all of your windows from getting rain in them, and the bay windows were also really nice and designed to keep rain and sun out. We had great airflow through the tent and had little to complain about except that we were missing one set of poles for the rain flap that was not included in our tent kit. I have yet to call the manufacturer to see if we can get them. Oh, and we also liked the carry bag because it was durable (hard plastic on the bottom with wheels), but it also is expandable, which was nice because it is a little difficult to roll up the tent to fit the case. You just unzip the very bottom and it gives about 2" more room in the case. Everyone we camped with was in awe of this tent, and we were so happy with our purchase.
