Combat Footage Iraq
I spent one year in Iraq and conducted over 150 convoy missions throughout the Baghdad area. My team made it with no casualities--but we were not all that lucky.
And what about Iran? In my opinion war there is inevitable. And with Israel's involvement in Gaza, the liklihood of trouble with Iran has, in my opinion, significantly increased.

I spent the weekend on the left coast and had a chance to speak with some of the anti-war folks in you know where-the Bay area.
What an eye opener. Did you know about half this country thinks if we would just talk with dictators, terrorists, and worldwide thugs, that everything could be worked out peacefully.
Some of us just don't seem to get it. This is a war of ideology. There is simply no reasoning with the mind of a terrorist. They want it all and will cut your head off to get it. Make no mistake about it-most of the people in this world hate Americans, and will not be happy until their Taliban style values and government rule the world.
Thank God a few decision makers in Washington think otherwise.
Hang around my Lense long enough to watch a few videos. Get fired up. Get pissed off. Enlist in the Army. I don't care. Just do something for your country. It's that serious.

Share your links and comments about the Iraq War. Make no mistake--I support the U.S. military, and I firmly believe in taking the war to our enemies on their home turf. The alternative is your backyard. Think about it.
Be brave. share your opinion. I don't care what it is or how far outside of left field you come from. Just be prepared to be flamed back. Like all American soldiers, I will tolerate your beliefs, just don't trash mine without expecting a little pay back.

This AMERICAN stands with your son also, as well as the hundreds of thousands of men and women who are serving this country in combat zones at this very moment, and I salute those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice, my prayers and thoughts are with the families always!!!!!

Dave, thanks for the comment--and God Bless your son.
With the drawdown in Iraq (or at least talked about drawdown) I doubt your son will end up there. However, we are building up Afghanistan, which in my opinion could end up being worse than Iraq.
Don't mean to scare you. When your son joins a military unit he will proudly deploy with his buddies and do his job. It's just the nature of about 99.9% of our men and women in uniform.
In 20 years of serving, with three of those years in combat zones, I only knew one soldier to balk at getting deployed. She had a new born at home and I know leaving home for her was very tough.

I agree. I'm with you brother. I served while Reagan was president, and people knew better than to mess with us. I was called out of retirement ot serve in Iraq. What a mess. the rules of engagement have our soldiers so confined, we could not take action agains tthe enemy unless shot or blown up first. I lost 8 friends that way.[in reply to jarhead,1981-1989]

My son has just joined the army and leaves for basic in July. We don't have a big military back ground in my family. We're frightened for him since we're at war of course, but we don't have soldiers so we can only have meetings. My heart goes out to the families that go through suffering as a result of combat, war, and accidents in training. But I tip my hat to you men and women who surve us.
To hell with these freaks holding signs against the war. Claiming to be against the war but for the troops. There is very little seperation to be made in my opinion. Some of these kids go over there shoot people, come home and are depressed, scared, and not sure what they did was right. They need us as americans standing behind them. These asses screaming against conflics we participate in are hindering the healing/debriefing/recovery process.
I got off track here ranting... Bottom line: This American stands with you guys. Thank you and God Bless you, and America.
