Combat Gear Is Gaining Popularity Throughout The World
Nationwide there are dozens of active reenactor groups that search around the world for authentic or high quality vintage military gear. Demand will most likely continue to grow, especially in light of changes being made in how the government handles military surplus.
A recent news story reported on the controversial move by the Pentagon to end the practice of selling military surplus via auction, as has been the practice for years. Military surplus merchants are crying foul because of how the government agency is actually playing unfairly.
Apparently military executives are classifying surplus military goods and too classified to be sold at auction. The items being classified at a "National Security" level include Hummer parts, decommissioned aircraft parts, uniforms and truck engine components. This effectively limits vendor's access to what had become a dependable source of military surplus. These savvy private merchants were able to sell their military wares to the expanding segment of the population that makes this a profitable market.
Consumer demand was slowly rising even before the war in Iraq began. Now with the economy slowing down and the rise in gas prices, consumers are shopping for bargains. When it comes to bargains, few items provide the low priced options like those offered by military clothing.
In regard to the Pentagon's decision, apparently the powers that be are feeling the heat as several Senators are talking as though they may press for changes in the policy.
The good news is consumer demand has not tapered off but continues to grow. Now with supplies at least temporarily frozen, the market may be ready to go through the roof, at least for those who were overstocked when the doors closed. We're not talking about tanks and jeeps but t-shirts, trousers and shorts make up most of the inventory.
Consumers are always on the search for authentic military gear. Websites that advertise large selections of military goods tend to build good traffic. The online merchants are expanding their advantage of enjoying lower overhead than their brick and mortar counterparts.
There are lots of options in the marketplace when it comes to military or combat gear. There appears to be some cross over interest from the millions of gamers who are addicted to war games as well as combat styled games in other genres.
Combat gear consumers benefit because of the ease of online shopping at a virtually unlimited military gear warehouse at the lowest possible pricing. Not only does online shopping save money because of the bargains, consumers save gas too. Plus the online military gear stores have it all. No need to go one place for tents and auto parts and then have to find another shop for clothing.
